Seems like a good Dr over all. I walked in, filled out paperwork. Was taken to the back almost immediately, Dr walked in right after the nurse asked questions. Saw Dr for all of 5minutes (more on me since I had no questions really). Told her what's wrong, prescribed me medicine and now I'm out. Quick and painless. Very happy.

Maura J. Holcomb, M.D. is the author of more than 60 papers on clinical interests that include psoriasis, acne, melanoma, tropical dermatology, and photosensitive skin disorders. Her work has been published in the International Journal of Dermatology, Dermatology Online Journal, Journal of Cutaneous Pathology, and other dermatological publications, including numerous Continuing Medical Education articles for ClinicalAdvisor.com's Dermatology Clinic.
Dr. Holcomb has also collaborated on several presentations of dermatological research at conferences of the Texas Dermatological Society, American Society of Dermatopathology, and American Academy of Dermatology.
A native Texan, Dr. Holcomb graduated at the top of her high school class in East Texas before attending Texas A&M University, where she graduated magna cum laude, obtaining degrees in both biology and psychology.
Dr. Holcomb received her M.D. from Baylor College of Medicine on a full scholarship. She completed her medical internship at The Methodist Hospital in Houston and her dermatology residency at Baylor. She conducted clinical research at the Department of Dermatology at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, and received the Debra Chester Kalter Award for Outstanding Student Research in Dermatology. Graduating in the top 10% of her class, she was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
During medical school, Dr. Holcomb spent two months volunteering at a leprosy hospital in Nepal, and she plans to continue volunteering internationally. In her spare time, she enjoys exercising, travelling off the beaten path, and scuba diving.

She was very polite but very quick. She very quickly told me the issue i was having was often not explainable, and that she wanted me on a number of pills. I felt like I was annoying her by asking clarifying questions because she just wanted to leave. I also think it's a big assumption to make on her part that she can prescribe someone strong medication without even attempting to explain side effects , or even asking them if they feel comfortable getting on prescription medication. I pay money so that a doctor with expertise can provide their expertise - not so a doctor prescribes me pills in 2 minutes of talking to me and then leaves without even explaining the medication. I shouldn't have to go home and research side effects and complications. That's the doctor's job.
