About Dr. Maurice Chianese

Dr. Maurice J. Chianese (Dr. Mickey) is one of the founding partners of ProHEALTH Care Associates, LLP, the medical group now incorporated into Optum. He formerly served as the Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine for more than 25 years. Dr. Mickey earned his Doctor of Medicine from New York Medical College and completed a fellowship at North Shore University Hospital. He is a general pediatrician with additional training and interest in emotional and mental health issues in children and teens. He also trains pediatric residents in the Cohen Children’s Medical Center pediatric residency program and medical students at the Hofstra Northwell Zucker School of Medicine. Dr. Mickey has been recognized on numerous occasions by Castle Connolly Best Doctors in New York, Newsday Best Doctors, and other top physician registries. A strong vaccine advocate, Dr. Mickey considers the ability to help patients and their parents navigate the many twists and turns through the most critical time of their lives the most rewarding part of pediatric practice.
