His clinical practice covers all digestive and liver diseases, including:
- Heartburn, acid reflux, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, hemorrhoids
- Irritable bowel syndrome, small intestine bacterial overgrowth
- Swallowing problems and disorders of the esophagus and stomach

Dr. Pitman graduated with honors from Yale University, where he studied English Literature. He earned his Doctor of Medicine at Columbia University, including a year-long research fellowship. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital / Columbia University Medical Center, where he was elected Senior Medicine Resident of the Year. He then completed his gastroenterology fellowship at New York University Elaine A. and Kenneth G. Langone Medical Center. At NYU, he was widely recognized for his compassionate patient care and was elected as a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society.
Dr. Pitman is an Attending Physician at NYU Langone Medical Center, where he enjoys teaching students and medical residents.
