“The office was understaffed but everyone worked to quickly get patients in and out. Despite all this, Dr. Shukla was very thorough and patient. I never felt rushed to explain what breathing issues I was having. All around the staff was very kind and I would definitely come back”

About Dr. Mayank Shukla

Dr. Mayank Shukla is a pulmonologist and sleep doctor whose combined approach has helped patients with asthma, allergies, and sleep disorders in New York City for over 15 years. While treating both adults and children, he finds it especially rewarding to help children breathe easier. He is expanding from central Brooklyn to Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island to offer his patient-centered, empathic care to all of New York City’s children. Dr. Shukla earned his medical degree (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) at Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College. He completed his pediatric residency at The Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center in New York. He pursued fellowships in pediatric pulmonology and pediatric critical care at the University of Minnesota, and in sleep medicine at Winthrop-University Hospital. He also trained in advanced allergy treatments for children. He is affiliated with New York Presbyterian, Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, and Richmond University Medical Center. Dr. Shukla is a fellow of the American Thoracic Society and the American College of Chest Physicians. A mentor and role model, Dr. Shukla is frequently sought for his expertise and unique practice. He is a top-selected lecturer for medical residents, nurses, and healthcare professionals on pediatric care in his specialty. As Chief Pediatric Pulmonologist at a leading central Brooklyn hospital, Dr. Shukla created one of New York City’s largest asthma programs, seeing 3,000 to 6,000 asthma patients annually. He pioneered the morbidity-directed asthma program, which consistently improves children's quality of life. His hands-on, personal approach has been very effective in controlling asthma symptoms.
