Dr. Melissa Miskell, a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist, has created Focus Women's Health to meet the needs of women who are going through the aging process. Her philosophy is similar to that of Dr. Andrew Taylor Still, the founder of osteopathic medicine. He said, “To find health should be the objective of the doctor. Anyone can find disease.”
Dr. Miskell graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and a Bachelor of Science in Zoology. While working in the Biochemistry Department at Texas Tech Health Center, Dr. Miskell earned her Master of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. From there, she graduated from the University of North Texas Health Sciences Center. She completed her residency at Texas Tech University Health Science Center where she was elected Chief Resident. Dr. Miskell is board-certified through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). She is a member of the Texas Medical Association (TMA) and the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG).
In addition to working with patients in Texas, Dr. Miskell is a volunteer with Prevention International: No Cervical Cancer (PINCC). Cervical cancer is a leading cause of cancer death for women of childbearing age in underdeveloped countries; the mission of PINCC is to provide equipment and training for healthcare workers in these locations that allow them to detect and treat cervical dysplasia, a condition that often leads to cervical cancer.

Dr. Miskell has always been very knowledgable and thorough in helping to releive my symptoms that I have suffered during my journey through menopause & post menopaus. I always give her name to any family and friends.
