What is your typical process for working with clients?

Introduction and Rapport Building (5-10 minutes): Introduce the purpose of the evaluation and explain confidentiality. Build rapport and make the patient feel comfortable. Presenting Complaint and History of Present Illness (15-20 minutes): Explore the patient's current concerns and symptoms. Assess symptoms' onset, duration, severity, and impact on daily life. Past Psychiatric History (5-10 minutes): Review previous psychiatric diagnoses, treatments, hospitalizations, and medications. Inquire about any past psychotherapy and substance use history. Medical History and Current Medications (5 minutes): Assess medical conditions, current medications, and allergies. Family Psychiatric History (5 minutes): Explore family history of psychiatric disorders, hospitalizations, or substance use. Personal and Social History (5-10 minutes): Cover developmental, educational, work, relationship history, and current stressors. Mental Status Examination (MSE) (10-15 minutes): Objectively assess appearance, behavior, mood, speech, thought processes, cognition, and perception. Risk Assessment (5-10 minutes): Evaluate for suicidal or homicidal ideation, intent, or history of self-harm. Formulation and Preliminary Diagnosis (5-10 minutes): Develop a working diagnosis based on the gathered information. Plan and Recommendations (5-10 minutes): Discuss treatment options (medications, therapy). Recommend follow-up evaluations or tests if needed. Closing the Session (2-5 minutes): Answer patient questions, summarize the next steps, and schedule follow-up.
