About Melissa Swigert
Melissa Swigert, FNP-C is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She received her Associate of Science in Nursing degree from Kent State University in Ohio in 2004. Melissa began her career as a board-certified registered nurse in the surgical intensive care unit at Wake Forest Baptist University Medical Center. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Winston Salem State University in 2007 and began working at The Skin Surgery Center where she assisted with Mohs Micrographic Surgery for 15 years. She then went on to receive her Master of Science in Nursing Degree with honors in 2024. She is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and completed the SDPA Diplomate Fellowship program.
Ms. Swigert is an avid believer in patient education and strives to provide compassionate, evidence-based care for various dermatologic conditions.
Melissa and her husband have 2 children. They enjoy watching them participate in their favorite sports, basketball and baseball. Her favorite hobbies are exercise and baking.
