About Dr. Melyssa Hancock
Dr. Melyssa Hancock received her undergraduate education at James Madison University in Virginia prior to attending medical school at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She then completed a comprehensive 5-year surgical residency in
Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC. It was during these 5 years that she was able to develop her interest and skill in facial plastic surgery with the opportunity to train under several leading facial plastic surgeons.
Following the completion of her surgical residency, Dr. Hancock was selected out of a nationwide pool of applicants for a fellowship in Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. During this year-long period of advanced training, she gained experience in the most innovative non-surgical and surgical techniques. She also served as a clinical instructor of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the Virginia Commonwealth University Hospital as well as the Richmond Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where she participated in teaching, resident training, and research.
Dr. Hancock joins the Nose and Sinus Institute as a true expert in the functional and cosmetic care of the nose. She practices the full spectrum of facial cosmetic surgery, performing facial rejuvenation using both non-surgical and surgical approaches. She has extensive experience in reconstructive facial surgery, such as for skin cancer or trauma, as well as revision nasal surgery to help improve breathing and restore form

First I made an appointment and completed all the forms online . Then I got a message a few days later saying to call the office to confirm my appointment. I called for the office to tell me they don't have my appointment and the reason was because their system doesn't interface with ZocDoc.....
So I made a new appointment with the office. Then a couple of days later they called and said I need to make another appointment because the doctor isn't available. I just made the appointment and now the doctor isn't available? Thanks but no thanks.

Reviews Are very poor for this office. They don't know what they're doing and when asked at the time of making the appointment if I needed the referral they told me no. Albeit I had a referral from urgent care. They said they they didn't need it but to bring it with me anyway. I came all the way from North Miami area only to be told I couldn't be seen. You have two guys that work there that are giving patients the wrong information. Why aren't you handling this better training them better and having more of a professional front office? I will never come back there.

Absolutely shocked!
Spent about at least a half hour on the phone with their staff in multiple calls prior to appointment answering a million questions. Drove an hour to the appointment only to answer all the same questions again via iPad then was pushed hundreds or thousands of dollars of TESTS BEFORE even seeing the doctor by rude front desk clerk .
Then I was told the Doctor CANT SEE ME AND NEEDS TO RESCHEDULE. I even called prior to driving to confirm and they said fine.
Everything seems incredibly disorganized, rude staff that just try to push you test sales with ZERO CARE ABOUT YOUR TIME or money
ONLY THE DOCTORS TIME MATTERS, you the customer have all the time and money in the world to waste!!

I recently had an appointment with Dr. Melyssa Hancock and was extremely impressed by her level of attentiveness and listening skills. She ordered a CT scan for my sinuses, which was convenient as it could be done in the same building within minutes. She reviewed the scan with me and explained potential issues clearly. Until my next visit, she prescribed over-the-counter medications and informed me that I would be having an allergy test.

An awesome, friendly doctor that I will continue to see. She is extremely knowledgeable. I didn’t even realize she’s double board certified; both in plastic surgery reconstruction and Ear Nose & Throat Specialty. We developed a care plan instead of surgery so heads up she’s not going to immediately rush you to surgery just because she’s a surgeon. She was a little behind schedule that day for which she apologized for. Sometimes that happens and it’s understandable.

The office called me 3 times due to an issue with booking, however, the staff was extremely kind and compassionate. Dr. Hancock however, was demeaning and dismissive. The things she said as well as the way she said them were very inconsiderate and not helpful. I would never treat a patient in a demeaning way. I left the office and cried. I obviously went to the doctor because I didn’t know what to do and now I still don’t.

I saw the PA Gina because I was late to my appointment and they run on time (unlike other facilities). Luckily for me, they had a cancellation and they quickly accommodated me. The nurse, Jessica, was so sweet and efficient. The PA, Gina was also fabulous! She really listened to what I had to say and thoroughly checked my areas of concern. I see a lot of doctors and rarely have a great experience.. I can happily say that this staff gave me a 10/10 experience today! From the woman at the front desk, to my nurse, to the PA, to the woman at checkout -- everything was handled amazing. I highly recommend this facility!
