When looking for a therapist the essential building blocks of that dynamic rely dominantly on trust, honesty, mutual respect and open communication. Pursuing an opportunity to work with Dr. Friedson is a chance to make real emotional headway in your life if you're willing to make the commitment. Within her space Meredith creates a judgement free environment, a platform for you as the patient to be guided and supported with a trusted and qualified person by your side. Safe in the orb of the session you are given the opportunity to ponder the depths of your psychology with someone who is impressively human and strikingly unbiased. It was a privilege to work with Meredith having been through so many therapists before and after her none have quite left the same impression as she. She has my utmost respect as a professional in this field and I would recommend her to any and all that seek psychological guidance, an ally, and a true confidant.

More about Dr. Meredith Friedson, PhD

** I do not accept insurance with the exception of UMR Top Tier for Mount Sinai employees. After you book an appointment online, I will contact you directly to briefly discuss your needs, the details of our first meeting, and fees before confirming the session. If you have out of network coverage, I can provide documentation for you to submit for reimbursement.** My mission is simple: to help you better understand your self. People are drawn to therapy for all sorts of reasons; some are in an acute crisis while others simply want a time and space away from their daily routine to be able to reflect. For some, it's about trying to break free of destructive patterns or working through relational difficulties. For others, it's about loss, grief, and mourning. Some people use therapy to work through anxiety, depression, or anger, while others want to learn how to lead more fulfilled, joyful lives. Whatever your reasons, my goal is to create a safe environment where you feel respected, recognized, and understood. This alone has the power to be healing. What evolves beyond that, I look forward to exploring together. My name is Dr. Meredith Friedson and I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. I received my Ph.D. from The Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies at Adelphi University and my B.A. in Psychology at Montclair State University. I completed my clinical internship at Nassau University Medical Center and my postdoctoral experience as a staff psychologist on a long-term inpatient unit at Rockland Psychiatric Center. My clinical experience includes working with children, adolescents, adults, and families in inpatient, residential, foster care, outpatient, school, and university settings.
