Getting to know Micah Craig

Many of my clients come to me feeling overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, or emotionally exhausted. They may be high-functioning on the outside but struggling internally with mood instability, trauma, ADHD, or life transitions. They want clarity, balance, and relief — but most of all, they want to feel understood without judgment. As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I specialize in comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and thoughtful medication management, with a strong focus on individualized, evidence-based care. I take time to listen deeply, educate clearly, and collaborate on practical treatment plans that align with your goals and lifestyle. You deserve care that feels safe, respectful, and empowering. If you're ready to take the next step toward stability and growth, I invite you to begin that journey — you don’t have to navigate it alone.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Here's what you should know about working with me: We're true partners in your care. I believe the best outcomes happen when we listen to each other openly. You'll share what's going on—whether anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, burnout, sleep issues, or other challenges—and I'll offer evidence-based options like therapy strategies, medication if appropriate, lifestyle tweaks, or referrals. We’ll check in regularly, adjust together, and always prioritize your input and preferences. Telehealth convenience. Sessions are secure video or phone from wherever you’re comfortable. Licensed in Texas with expanding multi-state options, we’ll meet on a schedule that works for you. First visits are longer so I can fully understand your story—no rushed appointments. Honest, judgment-free space. You can be real with me. I bring clinical expertise and genuine care, having supported many through similar challenges. Faith is important to me personally, but I meet you wherever you are spiritually, always focusing on practical support that respects your values. Medications when appropriate. We’ll discuss benefits, side effects, safe starts, and monitoring. I prescribe responsibly and we’ll never continue something that isn’t working for you. Moving forward: Clear communication via secure messaging. Realistic goals and celebrating progress. Flexibility for life’s busyness. Full confidentiality (standard exceptions). I’m here because I love helping people feel better and reclaim the life they want. Questions about my background, process, costs, or anything else? Please ask. This is your journey, and I’m honored to walk it with you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My Typical Process for Working with Clients We start with a collaborative intake. After brief forms, your first session (45–60 minutes) focuses on your full story, symptoms, history, and goals. As a PMHNP, I complete a thorough diagnostic assessment using current guidelines and discuss possible diagnoses in plain language. Typical Sessions: Follow-ups are usually 20–30 minutes and conversational: Quick check-in on how you’re doing Review progress and symptoms Practical therapeutic support (CBT techniques, coping skills, behavioral strategies) Medication management if applicable (benefits, side effects, adjustments) Goal-setting and next steps I blend medication expertise with supportive counseling — not full psychotherapy, but helpful tools in every visit. Frequency starts more often then spaces out as you improve. Secure messaging is available between sessions. The whole process is flexible, judgment-free, and centered on your needs and preferences. We adjust together as life changes.

More information on payments and coverage

If you’ve felt shut out by cost or coverage issues before, know that I’m here to try and make this work. Tell me about your situation—what’s your insurance like, or what would make services accessible for you right now? We can explore options together and find a plan that fits. Your mental health matters more than any payment barrier. Let’s talk about what we can do to make care available to you. Insurance, Payments & Making Care Accessible I want to be upfront about the financial side so there are no surprises. Mental health care is often under-covered by insurance, with high deductibles, limited sessions, or denied claims. Many people feel priced out of the help they need, and I hate that barrier. That’s why I’m committed to bridging the gap. How it works with me: I’m credentialed with platforms like Headway and Alma, which make insurance billing smoother where possible (including many major plans in Texas and expanding states). If using insurance, we’ll verify benefits upfront so you know your responsibility (copay, coinsurance, deductible). For private-pay or out-of-network, I offer individualized pricing based on your specific situation and financial need. I work with you to find a fair rate that makes ongoing care possible. Payments are processed securely through the platform (easy credit card or HSA options). I don’t want finances to stand in the way of getting support.
