Dr. Ficazzola graduated cum laude from New York University. He then received his Medical Degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Medicine, where he graduated with a Distinction in Research, at the top of his class and as a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. Upon graduation, he completed his general surgery and urology training at New York University Medical Center under Chairman Dr. Herbert Lepor.
Dr. Ficazzola has published extensively in the urologic literature, including peer-review journals and book chapters, on prostate cancer, minimally invasive treatments for kidney stone disease, and voiding dysfunction in both males and females. He has presented his abstract findings at national meetings and his research has been recognized both nationally and internationally. In 2000, he was named a Pfizer Scholar, which is awarded to physicians who have advanced the science of urology and improved patient care.
Dr. Ficazzola’s practice consists of all aspects of urology, but he has particular expertise in minimally invasive urology, including laparoscopic urologic procedures minimally invasive procedures for kidney stones, and laser prostate procedures.

I visited Dr. Ficazzola's office for a follow up/second opinion on an issue that developed last year. As a young male, a trip to the Urologist isn't exactly something that you are excited to make. From the moment he walked in Dr. Ficazzola had me at ease. His bedside manor is incredible and we were able to have a very genuine and candid conversation about my concerns. He did a quick check and explained everything about my situation to me so that I fully understood all aspects of the condition. He even pulled me into the ultrasound room to do a quick screen and show me exactly what he was talking about (something that another doctor billed me quite a bit for). Go see doctor Ficazzola, plain and simple!

He was fine. Kind of. I liked him until he called me 20 minutes after I left saying "wait you should get an ultrasound." Why wasn't this discussed when we were in the office before I was back at work? I found that very unprofessional and frustrating. I also wander around the office a lot, no one really guided me or discharged me or let me know when it was ready to leave or move on. Plus I had to remind them to call the pharmacy because they tried once, got a busy fax and gave up. Overall the office is not run well. I do not see myself going back there.

Front staff and Dr. Ficazzola were very helpful, easy to talk to and attentive. The wait time was a little longer than expected, especially considering I had a 8:45AM appointment and arrived 15 minutes early, but overall I was happy with my visit. Thank you!

The staff was very nice and so was the Doctor. The only annoying thing was that none of my data via ZocDoc was transferring to their office so I had to fill out many forms, and then do it again on one of their own pad computers. And then I had to repeat everything to the doctor's assistant as to why I was there, and then repeat it again to the doctor himself. Total of four times during one visit, even though everything was already in my ZocDoc profile.
