Dr. Meifert has been a practicing optometrist in the Chicagoland area for nearly 30 years. He earned his professional degree from the Illinois College of Optometry and is a renowned contact lens specialist.

Dr. Meifert has practiced for over 15 years at Dean Optical. Our doctors are Computer Vision Specialists, we can make you more comfortable and efficient at work or play

I am VERY upset with how the "Follow-Up" visit went. My first visit was to get a new prescription for contacts - it went well, and I was asked to come back in about a week to 10 days for a follow-up to make sure the contacts fit correctly so I could order more. I waited 40 MINUTES and finally the front desk associate noticed how angry I was and asked if the contacts fit well and if I wanted to go ahead and order some. Since that's what I came for, I said yes and she said that I didn't need to wait around for the follow-up. How rude. Next time, don't schedule me for a follow-up if you aren't really going to CHECK HOW THE CONTACTS ARE FITTING on my eyes.

Dr. Meifert was very personable and he gave me an honest assessment of my needs. There are not too many eye doctors who will tell you that you don't really need new glasses because your prescription has not changed very much. Wow. I got glasses anyway but was so grateful for his honesty. The staff was very helpful. There were so many wonderful choices of glasses. Great first impression.

Dr. Meifert takes his time with his patients and does not rush through things like other doctors commonly do. He makes an effort to get to know you and is always willing to answer questions. I have visited his office twice and both experiences have been very pleasant!

Hands down best eye doctor experience I have had! Dr. Meifert took his time during my evaluation and was very professional. His staff was great as well. People at the desk were welcoming and friendly. Gabe worked patiently with me for over 2 hours to make sure I was comfortable with my new contacts. Would definitely recommend this practice to anyone needing a new optometrist in Chicago.

I liked Dr. Meifert just fine as I fine him to be pleasant and professional. I however, can't recommend the place he works for as it's a rip-off if you're paying without insurance. I think this place should only do business with insurance companies as they seem to think everyone has the same money as the insurance companies with the prices they charge.

He is great. There are few providers who are so relaxed and accommodating. However, it would have been good to be notified by the desk staff that, had I waited two more months, my insurance would have covered the visit. I realize that I should also have been aware of this, but given that this is probably fairly standard (not to mention the amount of money that I spend on frames), this would have been good customer service. I provided my insurance information well in advance of the appointment.
