Michael P. Tichy, Certified Nurse Practitioner, graduated Summa Cum Laude from The Ohio State University in 2000 with a degree in Psychology. During his undergraduate education and for four years afterward, he worked in research in the Department of Social Psychology at The Ohio State University. While there, he contributed to several publications in areas such as decision making and public policy. In 2004, Michael resumed his studies at The Ohio State University, ultimately earning his Master’s Degree of Science in Nursing with a specialty in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing. During his graduate study, he was awarded a university fellowship and recognized as a distinguished graduate student within his specialty. Since graduating in 2007, Michael has remained in Columbus and has been practicing as a Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP), working in a variety of settings including inpatient and community mental health. He is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Michael currently sees adults aged 18 and up in general psychiatry, with a special interest in mood and anxiety disorders. Michael tends toward a more holistic approach to treatment, focusing not just on medication but also on behavioral and social factors that impact the course of treatment and ways in which lifestyle can improve or exacerbate psychiatric symptoms. He has a passion for mindfulness approaches and exercise as means to optimize the management of psychiatric symptoms. Michael resides in west Columbus and enjoys yoga and jiu-jitsu.
