In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, taking into account both physical health and behavioral health needs?
If a patient presents with an illness, the first part of the role is to determine what the illness is. Second is to help patients understand what the illness is and why it is occurring. The third part of the role is to initiate treatment, with a large component of helping patients understand why treatment is important, and how they can help themselves in the illness.
What makes you passionate about being a healthcare provider?
I enjoy helping patients learn how to improve their own health. I believe education and empowering patients on self-care is one of the most important aspects in improving their health.
Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time?
I like to garden and be as self-sufficient as possible including composting kitchen waste. At one point my wife and I were able to get eggs and most of our vegetables from what we grew. I also love to hike and have hiked the Inca Trail to Manchu Picchu, climbed up Half Dome, and also am part way done with the Camino del Norte. I do HIIT (high intensity interval training) and rock climb as well.

zero empathy. asked me questions all session like a robot, and then told me I would be billed for everything after I told her I terminated her as my doctor. ? Some people refuse to accept capitalism. I’m not one of them.
