Getting to know Dr. Moses Ikejiofor

My name is Dr. Moses Ikejiofor, DPN-PMH. My professional growth and development journey began 27 years ago after earning a baccalaureate degree in Accountancy with honors from Abia State University overseas. Immigrating to the USA 24 years ago provided me a vantage point and a roadmap to hone my aspiration to pursue a vision for the highest quality of health care in our society. As a springboard to this stride, I provided direct care to elderly patients, which gave me a better understanding of the road ahead. In 2004, I earned a second baccalaureate degree in nursing from the University of Maryland. I worked as a registered nurse for 13 years in various roles and capacities in long-term care and psychiatric and mental health settings before completing a master's degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing in 2019 and a Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2021, both at Walden University.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My guiding philosophy is that quality of life and quality of care are prime and inalienable rights of all individuals. As a Doctor of Nurse Practitioner, psychiatric and mental health, I assist patients in meeting their psychiatric and mental health needs, promoting their empowerment, self-worth, and social integration with their families and communities with the hope of fostering social change.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We deliver care through compassion, empathy and commitment. We try to understand your situation and deliver care through context, and we try to understand our patients through where they are. We practice compassion through acknowledgement to try and understand. We also practice commitment, being involved, to walk with the patient to solve the issues. We are committed to meeting their health needs. We believe quality of health and quality of life are inalienable rights.

My visit was timely. Dr. Moses was professional, courteous, kind, and understanding. He has immense knowledge that he shares with his patients.
