About Dr. Muhammad Tariq
Growing up in rural Arizona, I knew I wanted to be a doctor at a young age. This drew me to the University of Arizona, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude with Honors, majoring in Physiology.
My journey then led me to the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University, where I earned my Doctor of Medicine with additional training as a physician investigator. In medical school, I fell in love with Orthopaedic Surgery. I appreciated the wide breadth of the field and its intricate nature. In particular, I was drawn to the ability to help patients with orthopaedic problems.
This pursuit led me to NYU Langone Hospital Long Island for residency in Orthopaedic Surgery, where I not only learned the breadth of the specialty but also fell in love with the Long Island community. I also developed a passion for the acuity and critical nature of Spine Surgery, which led me to the main NYU Orthopaedic Hospital at NYU Langone for a fellowship in Complex Spine Surgery. There, I received comprehensive training in Adult and Pediatric Spine Surgery, with special emphasis on Endoscopic, Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS), and deformity surgery. In addition, I obtained international certification from the AO Orthopaedic Foundation for the Global Spine Diploma.
I return eager to Long Island to once again serve the community.

Beware all the positive reviews. It has been over three weeks where I scheduled an MRI and my insurance denied the claim (notified via phone call) however, when I called the office immediately after my denial, they told me that they would schedule a peer to peer fast-forward two weeks later and assured it would be done, there is no update nor the minimal help to get this issue resolved, instead the office ladies get frustrated at me the patient. Repeatedly they told me that I have to do physical therapy when I’ve explained in multiple occasions and phone calls that I am physically not able to because of the pain. The lady on the phone tells me I have to wait for a denial letter, and then after a brief hold tells me that the timeframe has expired for the peer to Peer, so which one is it? Tired of the lies. Find a doctors office that CARES
