Dr. Mustafa Zaidi is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist with extensive experience in various treatment clinical settings and is licensed in the states of Virginia, Indiana, Texas, and California.
Dr. Zaidi went to medical school in Karachi, Pakistan. He moved to the United States after finishing medical school. He did his psychiatry residency training at John Peter Smith Hospital in Ft. Worth, Texas. He started working at the Dallas VA Medical Center soon after finishing his psychiatry training. He was also appointed as an Assistant Professor of psychiatry at UT Southwestern Medical School where he was responsible for teaching first and second-year medical students.
Dr. Zaidi has worked in all types of treatment settings including outpatient, inpatient, and the emergency department. He spent most of his career helping patients in the outpatient setting. He loves what he does, he is very passionate about helping his patients.
He likes to work in collaboration with patients to formulate a treatment plan. He takes his time to understand patient’s problems, he is an empathetic listener and a compassionate physician. He believes that medicines are an integral part of treatment but it is not a complete treatment. Medicines along with therapy, individuals working on themselves and minimizing stress level forms a complete treatment.
He is very approachable and tries to help the patients to the best of his abilities. He is a firm believer that patients when visiting a psychiatrist they have lots of expectations from their provider and they shouldn’t be treated like a number. They should be treated as a human being who has two aspects; physical and spiritual, and they both need to be addressed if one really wants to make a difference in a patient’s treatment.
Dr. Zaidi is a family man, he loves to spend time with his family. He likes nature, enjoys hiking and outdoor activities. He enjoys playing tennis and table tennis.
