“I already love Dr. Wu so much. He's a great listener, yet he doesn't let me ramble and waste my appointment time. He did a great job of guiding me through all of the talking points he wanted to touch on during our conversation. I also appreciate that there was clearly no judgement on his part, and he didn't make inaccurate assumptions. Dr. Wu is amazing! ”

Getting to know Dr. Peter Wu

I am a psychiatrist (medical doctor/physician) skilled in psychotherapy, including talk therapy, counseling, life coaching, executive coaching, and psychoanalysis. I earned my Doctor of Medicine and completed my residency in General Psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine. I pursued a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at New York University and completed training in Adult Psychoanalysis at the Center for Psychoanalytic Studies. I specialize in helping people reach their full potential by answering difficult life questions such as, "What's happening," "What does this mean," and perhaps most importantly, "What should I do?" With years of clinical experience treating patients of all ages, from children to adults, I meet my patients where they are. I collaborate with each person to find what they need, whether that be short- or long-term psychotherapy, medication, or a combination that fits the individual. I use evidence-based (scientifically proven) practices tailored to a person's lifestyle, family, and culture. I often ask myself, "If this person were my friend or family, what kind of care would I want for him or her?" I have openings for in-person sessions and telemedicine (video sessions) and would be honored to support you in your treatment and be part of your life journey. Same-week and next-week appointments are available. Please note that my practice charges patients directly for services (I do not accept any insurance plans) to work with you for the amount of time and using the therapeutic approach that we agree is best. If appropriate, documentation can be provided to assist you in obtaining out-of-network reimbursement from your insurance company.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Following an appointment inquiry, I will personally contact you to speak briefly regarding whether we might be a good fit.

Great first session. He is super friendly and always looking to offer the best comfort experience for us as Parents. Thank you.
He was very pleasant and easy to talk to!!
Dr. Wu is fantastic. Before the initial meeting, he called to get an idea of what was going on, and to let me know that he is not in network with any insurance. In the initial consultation, he provided outside resources that could help with the situation. I was very comfortable talking to him, and appreciated his medical view.
Dr. Wu has been exactly what I've been looking for in therapy. He understands his patients on a personal level and tailors his approach to fit their personalities and still achieve growth. I am better off than when I started therapy thanks to Dr. Wu.
Dr. Wu establishes a safe environment to share sensitive issues. His patience, understanding, and easy manner make for a productive session every time. Most importantly, his insight and guidance set the scene for personal growth.
Dr. Wu is insightful, accommodating, observant and approachable. My visit was very beneficial, as I was able to discuss many thoughts and situations openly, and received a lot of valuable feedback that builds on prior therapy sessions.
