About Dr. Nora Vasquez

Born in Colombia, Dr. Vasquez grew up in Fontana, California. She attended University of California, Riverside, where she received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Biochemistry. She was inspired by her professors at UCR to do study development of monoclonal antibodies, including some of the early research in osteoporosis treatment that is very relevant today. She graduated from University of Illinois in Chicago College of Medicine, and although she loved Chicago, she returned to southern California to complete her residency in Family Medicine at the Santa Monica Hospital - UCLA Family Medicine Residency Program. There she served as Co-Chief Resident in her final year. Immediately after graduating, Dr. Vasquez joined the Santa Monica Family Physicians, and has been here ever since. Growing up with a very adventurous father, Nora’s family traveled back to Colombia often, and camped all over the western United States. Through these experiences, she developed a life-long love of nature, travel, and the Los Angeles Dodgers. However, it was her father’s medical problems, and lack of cohesive and accessible medical care that inspired her to pursue family medicine as a career.
