Nyarai Florence Henry is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in New York State. She began her journey in behavioral health more than 2 decades ago with a passion for making a difference. To ensure that the discipline was her calling, she started working with challenged teens at the Children’s Village in Dobbs Ferry New York. This exposure developed her acumen with disruptive behavior disorders (DBDs). Later on, as a Direct Support Professional at the Young Adult Institute, her experience expanded while working with people with disabilities.
After working in the behavioral health field for over a decade and convinced that it was her calling, she decided to pursue her Bachelors in Nursing. As a result, Nyarai has worked in community nursing as a visiting RN, skilled nursing, addiction medicine, and behavioral health. She has acquired over six years tenure at the Mount Sinai Behavioral Health Center in Addiction and Psychosomatic Medicine, and there is a special place in her heart for the underserved, homeless, and geriatric populations.
Nyarai holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences from Mercy University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Pace University in New York. In addition, she also holds a Masters in Public Health with a concentration in Behavioral Sciences and Health promotion, a graduate certificate in Health education from New York Medical College and a Masters of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Psychiatric Mental Health from Pace University.
