My name is Olufunke Carter, the founder of Bluewaves Mental Health Services LLC, an individually and privately operated clinic located in Maryland. I am a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner with several years of experience in psychiatry as both a registered nurse and a nurse practitioner. I earned my Bachelor's degree from Grand Canyon University and my Master's in Nursing from Walden University. I have experience working with adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in a variety of settings, including private practice, hospitals, and outpatient mental health clinics. I am passionate about promoting mental wellness and supporting patients through evidence-based practices.
What should a new client know about working with you?
We do not prescribe controlled substances out of our office. Commonly requested controlled substance prescriptions from psychiatrists include Xanax, Ativan, Adderall
I am committed to fostering a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship with my patients. I believe that effective communication and collaboration are key components of successful treatment.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
She evaluates, diagnoses and treats a wide range of psychiatric disorders with evidence-based practice and medication management. Ms. Carter prides herself in being an excellent listener, open-minded and sensitive to each client's needs. You do not have to feel alone in your mental health journey
