Dr. Kwame Asamoah is a native of California who relocated to the Austin region in 2007. After graduating from UCLA School of Medicine, he completed his emergency medicine residency at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. At the end of this time, Dr. Asamoah decided to move to Central Texas to enjoy the warm climate and warmer Texan hospitality. As a board certified emergency physician, Dr. Asamoah has worked in numerous emergency departments throughout Central and East Texas. He was motivated to start an urgent care clinic that focused on rapid, cost-effective and convenient medical care after noting a growing trend of minor medical emergencies presenting to the ER. When not working in the emergency room or at ExpressMD, Dr. Asamoah greatly enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He also enjoys the culinary arts, cycling, and reading.

Very personable and reassuring. Treated my daughter who was there for a college frisbee tournament for seasonal allergies--the symptoms were much improved after she took the Allegra D and prednisone. She played better! It turned out that once she got back to Chicago, she had viral pinkeye and the student health doctor thought she should not have been prescribed steroids . . . but I thought her symptom relief was worth it for the rest of the tournament and the flight back to school.
