What should a new client know about working with you?

Working with me is collaborative, intentional, and focused on understanding the whole person, not just their symptoms or diagnoses. I take time to get to know you and to explore the emotional, psychological, relational, and lifestyle factors that shape how you’re feeling. My approach is best suited for people who are open to deeper reflection and interested in meaningful, lasting change rather than quick fixes alone. Care may include insight-oriented psychotherapy, holistic interventions, and, when appropriate, medication. I prescribe thoughtfully and conservatively, using medication as one tool within a broader, individualized treatment plan rather than the sole focus of care. I value open communication, shared decision-making, and building a trusting therapeutic relationship, and I work best with clients who want an active role in their healing and personal growth.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My work begins with a 90-minute collaborative evaluation that focuses on getting to know you as a person beyond just the reason for your visit. At the end of that evaluation, we create an individual treatment plans that aligns with your overall goals and that you feel comfortable with. I tend to meet with clients for follow up appointments every 1-4 weeks depending on a client's treatment plan, goals, and availability. During follow ups, I integrate psychiatry and talk therapy rather than separating medication from the therapeutic process. Sessions often include therapeutic conversations that explore a client's emotional patterns, work through emotional stuck points, address lifestyle changes that fit a client's goals, and address specific challenges preventing clients from feeling the way they'd like to feel. When medication is part of the plan, I prescribe conservatively and thoughtfully as one component of a broader, whole-person approach.
