Peyton Hays, MD is a Board Certified Orthopedic Hand Surgeon specializing in disorders of the hand, wrist, and elbow, including carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, DeQuervain's tenosynovitis, Dupuytren's disease, tennis and golfer's elbow, arthritis, and traumatic injuries.
Dr. Hays provides state-of-the-art, minimally invasive care in managing finger, hand, and wrist conditions. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Cornell University and completed his internship at UMass Memorial Medical Center. I highly recommend Dr. Hays! He was courteous, attentive, and took the time to listen to my concerns. He thoroughly explained my condition, discussed possible causes, and presented several treatment options. The entire Optum staff was exceptional — I was seen immediately upon arrival with no wait time. Everyone was welcoming, professional, and demonstrated excellent bedside manner. The whole experience was smooth and well-organized — I've never been to a facility this efficient and well-coordinated.

Dr Hays is really good. He listened to all my questions and answered them like a human being. Of course he gave some answers only like a doctor would (sometimes non-commital) but all doctors are like that. I don't consider that an issue at all. It is completely normal. Taking that out of the equation he was really good. Knowledgeable, practical, caring, and again he listened to me and answered my questions and vice versa, all in all a good conversation.

Dr. Hays has performed my Ulnar nerve decompression surgery. Before the surgery, he even came to me to examine me one last time, asked if I had any questions before the surgery, and answered each one without rushing me or treating me like I was just some next patient in line. The surgery site was extremely clean when the bandages came off after a week. The incision is so neat, small, and healing really well. During examinations, he is thorough with his tests. I think he is an intelligent and talented doctor!
