About Dr. Prayag Patel
Prayag S. Patel, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained otolaryngologist who graduated magna cum laude from Boston University with a major in Biology and minor in Economics. He went on to obtain his medical degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate College of Medicine. He continued at SUNY Downstate Medical Center to complete his residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. During his last year of residency, he was awarded SUNY Downstate GME Resident Advocate of the Year for his overall contributions and achievements throughout residency. Subsequently, he went on to complete a fellowship in Rhinology and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. Besides managing and treating general otolaryngologic diseases for both adult and pediatric patients, Dr. Patel’s clinical interests include medical and surgical management of nasal obstruction, chronic rhinosinusitis, rhinorrhea, allergic rhinitis, cerebrospinal fluid leaks, and sinonasal and skull base tumors. Dr. Patel has co-authored over 10 peer-reviewed publications and 3 book chapters, in addition to presenting at numerous national otolaryngology conferences. At present, he is also a reviewer for the Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Journal. Dr. Patel is active in the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, American Rhinologic Society, and North American Skull Base Society.

Dr. Patel is very nice, but could not help me due to this very large location NOT having an examination table in which a client can lay down flat. In order for your crystals to go into place to cure vertigo you MUST be able to lay down. This office only had chairs that went back a little bit not flat.

I felt like Doctor Patel dismissed all my concerns and looked at my throat for 2 seconds before prescribing me Flonase- which I declined and he prescribed it anyways- The whole appointment time with him was about 3 mins -it was rushed and I didn't feel like he took anytime to address my throat problem and avoided all my questions
I will say the front desk people were amazing all really sweet, warm and easy to speak with 10/10 for them !

Dr was great! Really great listener, has good examination equipments and provides good prescriptions. My only complaint was the office— I went ahead to book my referral as recommended by the doctor and the office (another department/ floor in the same building) did not seem busy but just told me to wait for a call in a few days instead, even when I had all the documentations with me. Did not get a call me back.

Professional behavior.
Not especially friendly.
Painful experience cleaning ear wax to which he was not sensitive enough.
Talk about what I thought was going to be a prescription, but so far it looks like there isn't going to be a presecription, and Im going to have to figure out how to do the at home treatment (hydrogen peroxide drops in my ears) by myself.

This was my first time at the office. The office visit was great...wait time was a little longer than anticipated but that was only because they were backed up due to a shortage of doctors...probably due to the snow. The nurse did make an announcement about it which I appreciated . Doctor was friendly and very nice. will definitely see him again

At first the place was hard to find but I made it just in time for my appointment. The staff were nice and personable. I was able to see Dr. Patel within about 10 minutes and he is an expert in his field. My visit with him eased my anxiety about possible hearing loss. I will visit again, if necessary!
