About Dr. Queen Mbanuzue
In Step Podiatry Center was founded in 2011 by Dr. Queen Mbanuzue and the late Dr. LaToya D. Smith. Dr. Mbanuzue is the middle child of seven and was raised in Charlotte, NC. She attended Vanderbilt University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. After taking a year to work in the DC/MD area, she embraced her calling for medicine and enrolled in podiatry school at Dr. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in North Chicago, Illinois. She served in many leadership roles including as the coordinator for the Dance for Diabetes Fundraiser which helped raise over $15,000 for the American Diabetes Association. She attended a three year surgical podiatric residency at Inova Fairfax Hospital, a reputable Level I Trauma Center, where she received intensive training in forefoot and rearfoot surgery. She served as chief resident and worked with the esteemed Dr. Steinberg and Dr. Attinger at Georgetown Hospital Center for Wound Healing. Dr. Mbanuzue is very passionate about patient education and encourages her patients to take an active role in their treatment. In her spare time, she enjoys watching sports and plays flag football and volleyball recreationally. She also loves to eat; cooking and dining out are among her favorite hobbies.

My visit to In Step not only met, but it also exceeded my expectations! The staff was very friendly, the office was immaculately clean, and I hardly had any wait time before I was seen. The only issue I had was, I booked my appointment with Dr. Mbanuzue, but was seen by Dr. Kim. I had no problem with Dr. Kim. He was very professional & pleasant, he was helpful, he listened to my concerns and addressed each of them to my satisfaction. However, I would have appreciated if the office had let me know prior to my actual visit that the physician I requested had been changed.

I was so disappointed by the lack of professionalism. Less than 15 minutes before my appointment, I got a call about my insurance. They failed to access the docs. On their own website.
The doctor that saw me isn’t the one with which I had an appointment.
The doctor I saw was a little condescending and not very empathetic.

There was ample amount of available parking in front of the building. The office was neat, clean, and smelt lovely. The staff was super kind and very helpful. The wait was approximately 3-5 minutes before being called to see the doctor. Would definitely recommend to anyone in need of Podiatry services.

Heads up to everyone, there's a new doctor. I wish they would've said that Dr. Queen Mbanuzue is no longer at this practice. They should also update the website or let people know before their appointment. The new doctor was fine but that's not who I came to see.

My experience was a very pleasant experience. The bedside manner from the staff was welcoming. I loved the fact that I didn’t have to do another appointment just to do X-rays. They not only did them in-house but the Doctor was able to view them immediately and come up with the treatment plan. Definitely would recommend.
