I arrived on time for my 9 am appointment with Dr. Rafael Lopez Steuart. The office was very nicely appointed and comfortable.
Dr. Steuart was consulting in the waiting area with a patient; the patient had a broken finger and was worried. I appreciated the Doctor's genuine concern and professional bedside manner with his patient. I noticed that the patient was at ease and left feeling confident.
Dr. Lopez personally greeted me and asked me for my ID and insurance card...he promptly made a copy; and I paid my co-pay directly to him. And he then offered me a seat in his waiting area and asked me to fill out some standard medical forms.
He went back to his office and returned in about ten minutes and asked me a few medical questions regarding the origin of my pain; and then I followed him to the examining room. His bedside manner is respectful, calm and reassuring. He is very gentle when examing the area which I have injury. I greatly appreciated his professional attitude and manners. As this was my first visit to see a specialist; and I have been in great agonizing pain for several months. He made me feel very at ease and suggested that I should have three MRI's which he explained to me very calmly what I could expect.
He gave me a presciption for three MRI's and even suggested two places nearby. I have a follow up with him as soon as my MRI's are ready for his review. As we were saying good by he handed me my receipt for my co-pay. I was so grateful to him for putting my concerns at ease and giving me the confidence to finally get the medical help I need.
I would highly recommend Dr. Rafael Lopez Steuart if you need a specialist for orthopedic concerns.

After his help asked me multiple questions regarding my insurance and he doctor determined he would see me (I use BlueCross), I was asked promptly to step into the doctor's office. I was there for a total of 10 minutes. Although I am not an expert, I went seeking advice as I was truly concerned I had injured my back. I believe the doctor quickly sized me up as a non "surgery" case and sent me on my way. I suggest only using him as a last resort. Otherwise don't waste your time or your insurer's money.
