Verified Patient Reviews
I have been Dr. Mehra's patient since 1988 and have the utmost confidence in his ability as my primary care physician. I continue to appreciate his caring bedside manner and his attentiveness regarding patient and doctor dialogue. Dr. Mehra has diagnosed and offered appropriate treatment for my various health issues throughout the years. My husband and I appreciate his dedication as a medical physician and will continue to seek his service for the coming years.
Not very personable, wait time is an hour every single visit and receptionist is rude and overall unprofessional. Everything is out dated including their box TV set in the waiting room.
He’s a great doctor
Dr. Mehra and his staff were polite, prompt and very professional today. I felt all of my medical issues I came in with today were addressed. I left feeling better, receiving a good description of diagnostic results, necessary prescription refills and referral. I have been with Dr. Mehra for about 30 years. I moved away (to Falls Church) and thought about switching to a closer Physician, but I feel Dr. Mehra knows me so well, I choose not to switch.
Professional and a valid concern for my welfare. Diagnosed the problem and prescribed appropriate medicine to treat the situation.
It is NOT a full service Doctor
I went to be seen about a severe sore throat and other symptoms I suspect to be strep or mono. Right off the bat, the check in woman was extremely unprofessional, looking in the mirror and twirling her hair rather than answering my questions, didnt know if I had a copay or not, etc. The first nurse who took me back and did vitals and took a swab was great, no complaints. Then, while they left to run the tests, I overheard arguments about how it should be done, which made me doubt the reliability. A nurse practitioner came in, looked in my ears and throat, agreed that it looked bad, and just told me to rest and take advil...with no advice on what it could be. I asked if they could also test me for mono, and she said "oh sure," as if they hadnt thought of that. She took another swab for the mono, but said they had no mono testing stations open... Then, a fairly angry seeming woman came in and said she was taking me to the lab for blood tests. She took a blood sample and sort of rudely scoffed when I tried to ask questions- then as soon as she was done, without even looking at me, said "okay youre done." So I made my own way back to the front, and asked the check in lady how I would know what my results were. She gave a snarky smile and said "oh you have to schedule another appointment for that."...are you KIDDING? I have to come back...at a later date, so suffer through my current condition, and maybe pay another copay just to know my results, and maybe THEN be prescribed something to help? So, I walked out with over an hour wasted and absolutely no new knowledge on my condition or advice other than to rest and take advil...which I was already doing on my own.
I was disappointed since I can in for my physical but realized that the blood work was not done completely do I ended up being pricked twice in 2 arms for 1 physical.
Completely rude, zero bedside manner or respect for patients. Treats you like a number, spent less than 60 seconds with me then had his assistant send in a refill for me. Told him I had been feeling dizzy, he didn't ask me any follow up questions and he said I just needed more sleep and left. Just wants money obviously. Go somewhere better!
I admit I was frustrated by this visit. I had faxed in paperwork to have filled out for my FMLA coverage and was informed that I would need to be seen in the office since I had not been in for anything since Oct 31,2016. I agreed to come in for a yearly physical and to have blood drawn so I needed to fast. I went in for the appt. and they drew the blood but then they seemed confused that I thought I was having a physical done. I explained that was the agreement that had been struck on the phone by the nurse who contacted me because they could/would not fill out the paperwork till they saw me. By the time this all came to a head I had already been there for 45 minutes and did not have the time to hang around to do the physical when they finally said well we can do it now. So now I have no paperwork to hand in and I have to go back again for this physical before they will fill out my paperwork which I have to submit by 05/16/17 or I have to re submit for new paperwork with an extended deadline. Majorly frustrated by being told one thing then having them tell me to my face that I misunderstood the conversation that I had with the nurse. This is not the first such .....misunderstanding. In addition I have lost 125 lbs over the last couple of years. I stand 5ft 2 and weigh 140 and yet every time I see this Dr. he writes obese on my form. This never fails to piss me off.
Very Professional and accurate medical diagnosis. Enjoyed his banter.
I've been seeing Dr. Mehra for about 12 years. I've always found him to be a top notch doctor, He is also easy to talk to, and I can always get an appointment within a very reasonable time period.
Seems to me the receptionists are not talking to the Doctor or providing him the info passed along. He also needs to see me with my records in his hands not just the latest sheet. He can't recall what he wrote on the last visit sheet and I have to remind him. In most cases he does not spend enough time with the patient... probably because he has tooooooo many of them. His excuse today was he sees upwards of 30 patients a day and can't remember all the things discussed etc... hence, bring the last visit records as well and refresh his memory.
Great, fast and convenient.. love them. Same day appointments and staff is great.
They had no record of my appointment and made me re-fill out the paperwork.
Keep up the good work.
Came to this doctor because I was looking for a PcP and also saw on ZocDoc and through his website that he treats ADD/ADHD. After waiting an hour and half to see him, he walked into the room and essentially scolded me for coming there and asking him to treat my condition. My fault for even considering that a family care provider would treat a specialty... HOWEVER, a simple ' sorry I don't do that' would have sufficed. He made me feel so awful, ignorant, and almost brought me to tears. At no point did he actually examine me or ask me any questions about my health. Not even a simple focused exam or anything. Hands down the worst expierence I have ever had with a doctor.
The doctor himself is good although he seems to be on a tight schedule when he sees you. More importantly, the lady in the front desk who wears glasses is kind of rude and will just mumble when you ask her a question. Also, the wait times are terrible!!
I've been with Dr. Mehra for about 25 years. He has always been very professional. He's always treated me with respect and taken care of my medical needs.I would highly recommend Dr. Mehra.
I have been going to Dr. Mehra for over 20 years. He has always been honest, forthcoming and helpful with me.
Always professional and diagnosis is always on the money. He prescribed medicine and procedure to clear my lungs and I'm presently taking my meds. Doctor Mehra is highly recommended.
I have not comments.
The visit was good I think the communication was not that good but is ok everything else excellent.
It was excellent from when I checked in to the nurse then seeing Dr. Mehra.
Very satisfied with my visit. He diagnosed my illness 100% and prescribed meds that I am currently taking which is getting me back on my feet. Very Professional Doctor.
Easy to talk to, understanding and professional.
It was quick and the doctor and staff were very nice.
Excellent. Dr Mehra is always professional, listens attentively and allows me to take part in the treatment decisions.
I was called in for an urgent appointment and then made to wait for almost an hour before the doctor came in for maybe 30 seconds and asking me to head to the ER. If their intention was to send someone to an ER why call them in and then make them wait for an hour?? This is uncalled for and shows a lack of caring towards patients and makes you think that this office is only money oriented.
The actual time spent with the doctor was fine. However I am very tired of waiting for such a long time in the waiting room to see him. This has been about my 5th appointment with him in the last few months and I have waited at least an hour in the waiting room to see him. Usually I have my baby with me because I am a stay at home mom and the wait time isn't good for her either. Maybe next time if the wait is too long I will have to reschedule for a time that works best for him. I wouldn't recommend this doctor based on wait times in the waiting room and waiting for him to show up in the exam room. Even when I have one of the first appointments of the day I still have to wait about an hour to be seen.
Excellent doctor. Got my daughter in same day
I have been seeing Dr. Mehra for years and highly recommend him and his staff.. He is very thorough and always takes time to diagnose and suggest treatment.
Everything went like clock work. No issues to speak off. Went in for my annual physical and ANS.
Highly skilled and knowledgeable professional. Demonstrates real concern with his patients. As far as I~m concerned he always been able resolve my medical problems. He is a great physician.
Is better now then 3 years ago
Excellent Doctor, highly recommend...
He is an awful person. He is very rude and has ZERO patience. DO NOT go to him. He does not care about you. He treats you as something doesn't matter. The nurse and the staff are very nice people.
This doctor was all about brevity. He had one foot out the door the entire time he was in the office. He never even sat down! After spending less than 5 minutes in the room I wondered why I had ever chosen this doctor, thus I vowed I would rate this experience to better inform others.
Very good Doctor in working to resolve or control my health needs and concerns.
I have no problem with my visit with Dr. Mehra, however, I do have a big problem with the fact that each and every time I go to the office (with a scheduled appointment) I end up waiting over 1/2 of an hour past my appointment time to see the doctor. The lack of timeliness gets very irritating, wastes a lot of my time, and causes me to use up more sick time (from work) than should be needed. STONGLY URGE THIS TIMELINESS ISSUE BE TAKEN CARE OF.
The office needs to work on scheduling. I waited 1 hour and 5 minutes to be seen by the doctor. The doctor is very abrupt and has no tact.
Honestly, I felt almost as if I was "waiting his time". I was very dissatisfied with this appointment and very close to switching to a new doctors office.
I was a walkin, although I usually have appointments. I was greeted cheerfully by the staff and Dr. (as usual) and in and out with appropriate prescription within the hour of arrival.
Everybody was so on the ball doing their jobs it was great.
Wait time was too long. I had an appointment.
After putting off my normal annual physical, examination, I finally went ahead and set up appointment to see Dr, Rajesh Mehra. Dr. Rajesh Mehram proved to me that you do not have to wait for several years before you seek out normal annual physical, the staff were professional and extremely attentive to my needs, appointments for follow up are scheduled right away and I will highly recommend Dr. Rajesh Mehra and his team for your future medical needs
I waitedless then 5 minutes. Nurse and Dr. Mehra was great, asked if anything was wrong and seemed to care very much. This will be my knew place to go to! Highly recommend :)
Dr. Mehra went out of his way to be condescending, contradictory and rude. He did not listen. Whatever expertise he had to offer was lost in his utter lack of people skills and bent on demeaning me.
Dr Mehra has been my physician for over 10 years and have been impressed by his service, his staff's service and the quality of care every time I have an appointment.
Lack of communications. Nurse didn't send all the prescriptions to the Pharmacy that's why I got medicine until next day afternoon after called doctor's office and pharmacy twice. irresponsible staff.
I have been seeing Dr. Mehra for over 25 years. I have only good things to say about him and his staff.
Dr. Mehra needs to spend more time with patients. He needs to discuss the conditions, treatment options, medication and dosages thoroughly.
I love Dr. Mehra! He is the best!
Fast, nice, knowledgeable! I'll be coming back.
I like Christine, but Dr. Mehra is not very good. He seems stern and treats his employees badly.
The wait is always too long for the short visit. The information could have been passed over the phone and saved me the trip to his office. I saw Dr. Mehra for about 2 minutes while waiting for just under an hour. His staff is always friendly except for the staff that one has to go thru to get to the Doctor. They have a dislike for people for some reason and do their best to put them off. He needs more office people, especially when it comes to calling there.
Awful !!! Worst service I've ever seen in my life! One of the worker treats the patients very unprofessionally, The worker is never polite and friendly at all!
My annual physical examination was performed with Dr. Mehra's usual professional and ethical efficiency. He reviewed my blood work and recommended a further test. I strongly believe Dr. Mehra and his staff have my best interest as their primary concern. He has been my primary physician for almost 3 decades, we are the same age and I feel we are getting "old(er) together". I very much care for Dr. Mehra.
I've been a patient there for about 2 years now and every visit has been good except for the long wait..U have to wait about 20 mins for your name to be called then after that it's even a longer wait in the room for the doctor to come
This is the most unprofessional office I have been to in my entire life. The phones were answered simply "doctors office" until I suggested a change. The time the doctor spends discussing health concerns is laughable. He walks toward the door to exit almost as soon as he enters. Frankly he has too much going on in his office to truly care for a patient to aby extent. He is the only doctor on staff and he is the office manager for an office that does everything from primary care to deployment exams to physical therapy to workman's comp. Dr Mehra is argumentative, spiteful, and greedy. The turnover rate of his staff is ridiculous. There are constantly staff mended walking out and writing because of Mehra bad attitude, and his chincy ways. In short, I would not recommend anyone go to his office for any reason. The health care is subpar. Mehra caused so much trouble for me that I gave up trying to get better through physical therapy in his office. This caused me to lose a huge accident settlement but more importantly it nearly stole my sanity.
I met with another doctor, a woman, and she was amazing.
I thought he cared about not just my illness, but my overall health. He wanted me to get a physical and make sure all of me was working. Very thorough!
I've been seeing Dr. Mehra for several years now, and I can honestly say that he's one of the finest physicians I've ever seen. I've had several medical conditions associated with aging to pop up over the last few years, and Dr. Mehra has been careful to keep track of changes to my conditions and to call for appropriate follow up as necessary.
I always receive outstanding care on each visit.
Dr. Mehra has been my physician for 25 years. I moved from Centreville to Falls Church over 13 years ago, and am willing to make the extra effort & drive to be seen by Dr. Mehra, as I feel he really knows me. I trust him with my life, which he literally saved by an accurate Dx in 1999. He even came to visit me in the hospital when he was not the surgeon! Just to check on me. The staff at the office sent me a get well card. I can not fathom changing physicians just for the convenience. I feel that I have a trusting, loving doctor/patient relationship. We are the same age, I only hope he does not retire before I die. Please don't offended with this popular vernacular, bur "Rock on, Raj".
The doctor is always friendly yet gets down to business. He askes important questions without too much chit chat. I'm always pleased.
He is very easy to speak with. However, he seemed in a bit of rush.
Dr Mehra is excellent doctor he really cares about his patient's needs and he's there to help in any way that he can
Condescending and argumentative to prove he is right. Not for the normal person...maybe should be seeing other doctors that would agree with exact numbers to agree with a perfect diagnosis without any skew in the number. Ex. blood pressure should be 130 over 80, if you are any number that varies from these exact numbers, you are under or over in your blood pressure...must be perfect for him. Always an argument if you do not agree and say you are within a reasonable range not needing medication. Used to have a wonderful woman doctor, gone very quickly...issues?
Dr. Mehra has been our family practitioner for 10 years and Ihighly recommend his clinic to anyone
Outstanding care as always
I would recommend this doctor to my friends.
I have been a patient for several years and I'm very pleased with the service provided by all the staff at this practice.
Very professional. He didn't spend much time with me, but I think he is so experienced he knew what he was dealing with right away. Very efficient at diagnosing and prescribing treatment. I would not hesitate to go back again and see Dr. Mehra. Thank you.
It's not the appoint with Dr Mehra Once off laded to a room rarely does the handling follow on a timely basis
Dr. Mehra and his office are always great! I've been a patient for about three years.
The office had me wait over 30 minutes before asking me to refill out my information that I already did with ZocDoc. Then I waited another 20 minutes. After that, a nurse called me back to take my vitals and informed me it was going to take two visits to perform the annual physical. I proceeded to wait another 10 minutes and decided to leave and seek a refund. I cannot speak about the Doctor but can see they have some organizational issues that need to be remedied. I was also put on hold on the phone prior to the appointment for about 10 minutes before the line cut to voicemail. They never returned me call as well.
Love Dr. Mehra & his staff !
Friendly and Helpful people.
He is very caring, explain the problem thoroughly and suggested treatment.
My visit with Doctor Rajesh Mehra was very good
My appointment was with Dr Rudolf and she was absolutely fantastic! I've been in the military for most of my hospital experience and they have been terrible. She had a great sense of humor and made me feel really at ease with all of my questions. I hope I am able to see her every time I visit. :)
Professional and courteous. Dr. Mehra and the staff made me feel comfortable. Made going to the doctor painless and I feel better. Definitely recommend Chantilly Family Practice if you need a primary care doc! Thank you!
Seems to be a highly competent Doctor. Communicated well and was extremely professional. Also, seemed to take a personal interests in my general health that was above and beyond the reason for my visit
Compassionate and great bedside manner. I know our health is important and we all need help from time to time, I 'm lucky to have Dr. Mehra and the office staff with me every step of the way. I recommend Chantilly Family Practice to all my friends and family.
I've been seeing Dr. Mehra for 3 years. My wait time has varied from being seen right away to 20 min. Most recently I brought my aunt with me who was having a lot of heart problems. Not only was Dr. Mehra able to help me, but he was able see my aunt as a walk in. It was great that the office is equipped to do labwork, EKG and echo all on the same day! Love Chantilly Family Practice and the staff was polite, I highly recommend this to anyone in search of a family doctor in northern VA.
The doctor was friendly and courteous and the staff were very friendly. I would definitely consider making Dr. Mehra my regular primary care physician.
It was an overall good experience. I waited for around an hour between the nurse getting me from the waiting room and the doctor seeing me. But besides that, I liked them.
Overall visit was ok, although I was in the office for a total of 3 hours. I had an appointment, but MUCH longer than I've spent at other practices. They were processing multiple patients at the same time, that were also there for the same reason I was, (pre-deployment physical exam). No doubt an efficient method/operation from their perspective, but as the patient, it was a lot of time spent sitting around waiting.
the doctor is ok. its obvious that he doesnt want to spend too much time in the office. but the office is dirty.
VERY IMPERSONABLE AND RUDE
He was the best doctor I have ever had. I felt like a patient and not a number. He was very knowledgeable and shows true compassion for his patients needs or worries.
Very knowledgeable! Dr. Mehra seems to really care about medicine and is still passionate about his career. He really took the time to figure out my health issues, and I appreciate the extra effort. Other health professionals that I have seen just gave me medicine without trying to resolve the underlying issue, but Dr. Mehra really tried to figure out exactly why I was sick. He didn't just push me out the door with medicine.
Dr. Mehra seemed in a hurry (likely due to booking too many patients) and after 5 minutes, he ended up largely ignoring my description of my symptoms. When I tried pressing questions about symptoms that he seemingly ignored, he wouldn't explain and instead rushed me a prescription and told me to come back if it got worse. It was clear he was more interested in clearing his over-loaded patient queue.
It worked out great. I became sick over the weekend as used ZocDoc to make a Monday appointment without the doctor office being open. A great service providing me access to a doctor who has cared for me for many years.
