Dr. Rene Compean II, MD, is a highly skilled psychiatrist dedicated to providing compassionate mental health care. Dr. Compean earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Texas A&M International University and his Doctor of Medicine from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. He completed his psychiatry residency at Bergen New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus, New Jersey, where he developed expertise in diagnosing and treating a wide range of mental health conditions.
Currently serving the Texas community, Dr. Compean is the only full-time in-person psychiatrist for nearly 400,000 residents. He specializes in the treatment of anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, autism, ADHD, PTSD, and suicide prevention. Fluent in Spanish, he is committed to making mental health care accessible to underserved populations.
With experience in both outpatient care and telehealth, Dr. Compean takes a structured, step-by-step approach to psychiatric evaluations and medication management. He prioritizes building trusting relationships with his patients, addressing their unique concerns, and tailoring treatment to improve their quality of life. Passionate about his profession, Dr. Compean continually strives to deliver exceptional care and make a positive impact on the lives of his patients.
