Dr. Richard Cohn is a board-certified ophthalmologist who is fellowship trained as a glaucoma specialist. Additionally, he specializes in state-of-the-art no-stitch cataract surgery and is highly regarded as one of the most skilled cataract surgeons in Central Florida.
Dr. Cohn graduated with honors from Tufts University in Boston in 1986. He then received his M.D. from New York Medical College, where he was granted the Trustee Scholar Award and was elected to the National Medical Honor Society. He performed his medical internship at Greenwich Hosptial, an affiliated hosptial of Yale University. Dr. Cohn completed his ophthalmology residency at the Eye and Ear Institute of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He then went on to complete a glaucoma fellowship at the University of California in San Francisco.
Dr. Cohn has been practicing general ophthalmology and glaucoma in Orlando since August 1996. During this time, he has performed over 10,000 cataract and glaucoma surgeries in Central Florida. In 2001, he served as the President of the Central Florida Society of Ophthalmology. Dr. Cohn currently serves on the executive board and is the Medical Director of the Orlando Ophthalmology Surgery Center.

Dr. Cohn has seen me for the last decade and a half, he just started seeing my teenage boys who will likely continue throughout their adult lives.
Dr. Cohn stays busy, but never rushes you off, and answers all of your questions.
Stacy in the optical shop goes out of her way to help me find the right frames, lenses and cutting edge contact lenses.
Being a commercial pilot, I drive to Maitland or Oviedo from Tampa to be seen by Dr. Cohn, wouldn't have it any other way.

He tells you about his examination, both technically, and in simple, easy to understand language, he explains what his examination determined, and he discusses how it affects your vision. He spends as much time with you as you need, and he never makes you feel rushed, or unimportant. I wish more doctors and staff treated their patients the way the Dr. Cohn and his staff perform.

I am so happy that I found Dr. Cohn and his practice. I have had glaucoma for several years and I am 52. I also was experiencing terrible dry eye symptoms. I have been seeing an eye doctor locally but wanted a 2nd opinion. Dr. Cohn treated me with respect and dignity. He changed my nightly eye drop as the pressures in my eyes are too high especially with my age being a factor. Recommended a drop for the dry eye symptoms and that made a world of difference. After using the new eye drop for the glaucoma for 4 weeks I will see my doctor again to determine level of improvement. Dr. Cohn's front desk staff and the staff who treated with Dr. Cohn were all friendly. Would highly recommend this medical office and Dr. Cohn.
