I went to see Dr. Nathanson at a very difficult time in my life and I feel so lucky to have found him. When I just went, he was willing to work with me in psychotherapy when other doctors wanted to give me medication before I was ready. It's a rare find to find a psychiatrist who is comfortable working with both medications and therapy. Worth every penny.

Dr. Nathanson is very thorough and professional and has a calm empathic manner. He took the time to carefully explain his diagnosis and treatment options and answer all my questions. I felt very comfortable working with him and would send a family member to him in a heartbeat. As a physician myself, I can say without a doubt that he is first rate.

Thank you for your interest in my private practice in Psychiatry. I'm pleased to have the opportunity to tell you about myself. I graduated from NYU medical school and completed my postdoctoral residency training at Columbia University. I hold additional certification in psychodynamic psychotherapy from the Columbia Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research and am Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Currently, I am a faculty member at New York University, supervising resident psychiatrists and medical students.
I have broad experience working with different patients. In the past I've worked at New York Presbyterian Hospital and Lenox Hill Hospital, and have maintained a private practice for over ten years. Now I focus on psychotherapy, with or without medication, to help with the full range of psychiatric difficulties. I personally provide comprehensive evaluations and collaborative treatment planning for every new patient.
