Dr. Rina Anvekar is a trusted, board-certified dermatologist committed to providing excellent patient care. Her expertise in medical dermatology includes, but is not limited to, acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, and skin cancer, as well as complex medical dermatological diseases like pemphigus, bullous pemphigoid. She provides preventative counseling, total body checks, and cutting-edge treatment options.
Dr. Anvekar received her medical degree and subsequent postgraduate training from Grant Medical College in Mumbai, India. Once in the U.S., she completed two years of research fellowship, focusing on melanomas under the mentorship of Dr Jerry Chipuk. Her research on the resistance of melanomas to various chemotherapies and a strategy to improve response in these tumors was published in prestigious journals such as Frontiers in Oncology and Cell Death & Disease. She then completed a one-year internship in Internal Medicine and subsequent three years of residency in Dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital, serving as Chief Resident in her final year.
At Elmhurst Hospital, Dr. Anvekar continues to supervise and mentor residents. She has been a speaker at the Winter Clinical Dermatology Conference, as well as numerous local symposiums. In addition to treating patients, Dr. Anvekar also serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles which have been published in various prestigious journals.
