Dr. Ruth Ann Fernandez, Doctor of Chiropractic from Northeast College of Health Sciences and Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner, is the Clinical Director of the Manhattan (NYC) MaxHealth Center. She is one of the few female chiropractors working in midtown, helping thousands of patients over the past twenty years to feel their best.

Dr. Fernandez and staff is always pleasant and attentive. Everyone is patient and willing to explain what and why they are the treatment they are doing. I came in due to a slip and fall. They treated the discomfort in my neck, back, ankle and wrist. I love how warm and inviting everyone is!

My visits are amazing. Max health goes above and beyond to help. When I attend I receive massage therapy and physical therapy. The shock wave therapy is amazing, it has helped with all of my movements and every day activities.

I came to the practice for a bad neck injury and was in so much pain. After just one visit with Dr. Rief I had about 75% relief. I was amazed with how quickly I had gotten my mobility back.
The team has a strong focus on soft tissue massage so each of my visits have started with a massage and then an adjustment. Dr. Rief also gave me some simple exercises to improve my posture. I cant speck more highly of the staff. Each one of them are welcoming and professional.

my visit was an absolute nightmare. I got yelled at and felt disrespected, 30min later i am still at unease, trying to wrap my head around the whole experience.
Mrs Fernandez kept on interrogating me about my injury with extremely condescending and accusatory tone. She didnt let me finish sentences, interrupting my thoughts by saying “not important”. She also insinuated i am trying to trick the insurance (???) and ended the appointment by shushing me out of her office like a stray cat. Needless to point out, i wont be back.
I really hope she reads this and reconsiders treating patients with respect, maybe even digging a bit into this feeling called empathy - those 2 can do magic. Good luck!

Dr. Fernandez was extremely thoughtful about prescribing care. So much so that despite her excellent service, she recommended that I find a chiropractor more conveniently located for me so that I might have more consistent care.

Dr. Fernandez is excellent! Not only did she give me relieve from by back pain, but she also educated me and talked to me in a positive way. Dealing with back pain for so many years has helped with starting a significant relationship to help me achieve a comfortable level where I'm not living with back pain! All the employees there, whether they were the main doctors, the massage therapists or the exercise therapists, maintained a incredibly professional and admirable amount of respect towards each other. Everyone was passionate and loving towards what they were doing. Doctor Fernandez was clear about what she wanted me to do, what she thought was going on with me and how I could take preventative measures so that my problem would not become something recurring in the future. She has become my new idol and I am so thankful for this visit.

Front desk, eh. The rooms and tables are kind of old, I'm not sure if it just happened to be that day because they were a little backed up but the room I was in was just extremely small and the table needed some upgrading. Otherwise, the Dr. is extremely caring and explains exactly what she will be doing and why.

She's fantastic! She's very informative and knowledgeable and she takes time to explain what's happening as well as understand what's wrong. She is really eager to help and she takes time out of her schedule to be with her patients even after (or way after) typical hours. She's also a active learner--I assume academically and environmentally. She takes time to learn about everything before going through any procedures. Overall, if your looking for a nurturing and informative chiropractor, I would highly recommend her.
