Getting to know Dr. Ruth Richter

Note: First appointments are in-person; all subsequent visits can be virtual With over three decades in private practice, Dr. Ruth Anne Richter has extensive experience treating depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, attention deficit, and eating disorders. She also has expertise in substance abuse and addiction, as well as dual diagnoses. Dr. Richter earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Alberta Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry and completed her residency in Psychiatry at the same institution. During your initial appointment, Dr. Richter will meet with you to discuss your history of symptoms and current challenges, working with you to create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your precise needs. Her approach is flexible and holistic, embracing a longitudinal patient-physician relationship to foster a compassionate and collaborative treatment environment. Because medication alone is rarely a sufficient solution, Dr. Richter employs talk therapy to augment any prescribed medication in a unique combination of psychopharmacology and psychotherapy.
