Ryan L. Baker, M.D. is a board-certified Family Medicine physician and a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Florida Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Baker has a diverse background in primary care; he has practiced medicine in a hospital setting, urgent care clinics and provided rehabilitative care.
Dr. Baker graduated magna cum laude from Florida State University with a Bachelors of Economics. He then obtained his medical doctorate from Florida State University while serving as a teaching assistant to the Clinical Anatomy course. Dr. Baker completed an internship in General Surgery at the University of Illinois-Chicago/Metropolitan Group Hospitals, followed by a Family Medicine residency at Florida Hospital in Orlando. During this time, he served as a faculty member at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine and received recognition for his performance, including being named representative to the Florida Academy of Family Physicians. After completing his residency, Dr. Baker practiced inpatient medicine at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, ranked as one of the Top 100 Hospitals in the US, and served on the Medical Executive Committee and the Quality Improvement Committee. He then moved to the outpatient world, initially focusing on urgent care medicine before establishing Bayshore Health & Wellness. Dr. Baker focuses on preventative care, disease management, wellness and aesthetics. He also educates future physicians as an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at Florida State University College of Medicine.
Dr. Baker practices full-spectrum primary care with an emphasis on prevention and wellness. Dr. Baker strives to develop strong patient relationships through communication and education.
