About Dr. Ryan Michalovicz
Dr. Ryan Michalovicz is a native of the Pittsburgh area and lives in the South Hills. He attended Penn State University and graduated in 1999 with a BS in Health Policy and Administration. He discovered the power of chiropractic after traditional medicine failed to alleviate his own back pain, after suffering an injury in the gym. A chiropractor helped him back to wellness.
He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life University Chiropractic College in Atlanta, Georgia. He was a resident at Life General Health Center, where he completed his internship. Dr. Ryan has over 10 years experience, and is board certified and licensed in the state of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Ryan’s mission is to offer patients the opportunity to harness the body’s own ability to heal itself, without the need to take drugs, or the need for surgery. He will design an assertive program to alleviate your pain, and develop a treatment plan that will make you more comfortable.
Whether you’re a highly competitive athlete or just interested in a better quality of life, Dr. Ryan strives to surpass your expectations about chiropractic. When you make routine chiropractic care a part of your lifestyle, you avoid many of the aches and pains that so many people suffer through, your joints will last longer and you will be able to engage in more of the activities you love.
I have treated patients with sports injuries, migraines, herniated disc disease, earache and equilibrium issues, carpal tunnel, rotator cuff injuries, and more. I have worked with folks who were injured on the job, in auto accidents, and at home. The one thing that I have noticed in almost all of the patients that I have treated with major issues, is that the injuries were really accumulated trauma, sometimes from years of neglect or repetitive motion. Most injuries and health problems can be avoided. Most of us wait until the pain is too much before seeking help.

The doctor greeted me as soon as I walked in the door which is great as I am a new patient. Beyond that, he was incredibly over familiar with me right away. As if we were friends. He assumed a lot of things about me right off the bat, only half accurate. Talked my ear off with a rehearsed monologue about his origin story and his “wizardry” which he repeated at least three times without getting a breath in. He continued to stroke my skin after each necessary adjustment—maybe not a problem for an existing patient but again, this was my first time with him. I was not comfortable or made to feel more comfortable. He said “come on baby” when my back wouldn’t crack where he wanted and as a woman who prefers professionalism, this just creeped me out. Maybe this overfamiliar bedside manner is appreciate by people who trust him or want to trust him, but that is not me. His staff member at the desk and helping him perform tasks was LOVELY however.
