The doctors office took two weeks to respond back after taking an MRI. Called multiple times to get a std response that someone will call back. Terrible treatment for those who are seeking diagnosis for pain

My visit was okay. The office never confirmed so I had to call them the day before to see what was going on (definitely call them if they haven't confirmed!) - turns out the time I booked was not available butthey could see me at an earlier time and also let me know I would need to come in even earlier for x-rays. Fine. Once I got to the office, I filled out a bunch of paperwork (most of which I had already completed online through their own system that they had emailed me, not sure where that went) and was taken back for x-rays. The x-ray tech was really sweet. When I was brought into the exam room, I met with one of the residents first - he was very friendly and I wish I could remember his name. I explained what had happened with my knee over the last few months as there were a couple things that lead up to the severe pain that came on suddenly that prompted me to book the appointment and finally get everything checked out. He left the room and Dr. Strickland came in with 4 other residents (I think they were all residents?). It was a bit disconcerting having the first words out of her mouth be "I'm confused my your story." I was also confused why I was in so much pain - that's why I was there. I don't know if it's just because I grew up going to an wonderful orthopedic surgeon back home, but that was pretty disconcerting and I felt like I wasn't being heard. She ordered an MRI since my x-rays were clear. Fortunately, nothing showed up as being torn in the MRI (praisehands), just a little inflamed and my Baker's cyst was bigger than my last MRI (not surprised about that). She recommended a cortisone shot to see if that would calm everything down. I went back in and she was MUCH friendlier. I must have caught her on an off day the first time around. She administered the shot and made sure the injection got to the part of my knee where I was having the most pain. That seemed to do the trick thank goodness!

Dr. Strickland spent all of five minutes with me. She discouraged any imaging beyond the X-ray I'd just had, which showed nothing, told me she would set up a scrip for physical therapy, and dismissed me to pay my bill, withoutever really giving me a diagnosis. Four weeks later and I still have received neither an insurance statement or the promised scrip.

Dr. Strickland performed my ACL reconstruction surgery a few months ago and I am very pleased with the results. I barely have scars and am on track to be back to playing sports in no time. Very professional and extremely goodat what she does. If you need knee/shoulder surgery, she is your lady! 100% recommend her to do the job. Entire staff in her office is amazing - willing to answer any questions you might have and are all very responsive.

Back in 2010 or 2011 I had gone to Dr. Strickland to treat my RIGHT knee, as I had some pain. At that time she ordered an MRI and recommended a cortisone shot for the pain. I refused cortisone, mostly becauseI didn't have enough information to make the decision on the spot. I was happy with the visit. In 2015, I went back to Dr. Strickland to treat LEFT knee pain, for which she ordered an x-ray. When reading my diagnosis, she mentioned that I had swelling in the knee/patella and again recommended a cortisone shot. My response to her was one of surprise, as I was shocked that x-rays reveal swelling in the knee. To which she confessed she was looking at my MRI from years ago, and not the x-ray she just ordered. An honest mistake, I assumed; but what got me was that she insisted on a cortisone shot for my left knee, and all she had was an x-ray. I walked away with the impression that her No. 1 treatment option is to reach for the cortisone, coupled with mistaking my knees and reading an MRI dated from years ago. I'm sure she's a good doc but I can't say I she instilled confidence in this patient.

Dr. Strickland was direct, thorough, kind, attentive and explained her perspective on my complaint without condescension, but clearly and with instructions for my personal plan to get well and follow-up with her. She also listened to andanswered my questions with patience and respect. She was on time and her support staff (and their administrative systems/infrastructure) rwas amazing. She is the type of doctor who I immediately trust and the reason why it's worth it to go to HSS all the way from central Brooklyn: I feel confident that the opinion is right and that the plan of action will lead to better health, which is inspiring and saves my time and energy for better things.

Everything about Dr. Strickland's practice is professional, modern, and inspires confidence. She runs a tight ship and seems to want to give her patients the best possible care and experience, and it shows. Even the x-ray room is right downthe hall, beautiful and brand-new looking, with a great view. X-rays are done right before your visit, if needed, so everything is completely seamless. Dr. Strickland's practice is part of the sports med center for women at HSS, and it's great that this practice exists. Every person in the office was kind and competent, to say the least. As a new patient, I can't speak to long-term care, but I was very impressed after this first visit.

I've met with a number of shoulder specialists in my life, but Dr. Strickland is one of the few that I would see more than once. She knows her stuff, can explain it well, and clearly has the expertise to provideher patients with confidence. I hope not to have to see her again, but will not hesitate to choose her if I have more issues with my shoulder!

Dr, Stickland both diagnosed and solved my shoulder issue very easily and effectively. I eventually had surgery, which went perfectly and my recovery was excellent. I would highly recommend her and her staff (and the PT who is associated withHSS, Advantage Therapy). And, of course, cannot thank her enough for getting me back to playing with my 3 year old.
