He's great. He really cares about the patients and spends time explaining what the problem is-- and what the problem is not
My appointment was at 4:30 in the queens office. When I arrived I was told the doctor had a family emergency and wasn't seeing patients and that all his patients were called that morning to reschedule but somehow I was never contacted and the best they could do was reschedule for 8 days later in the manhatten office. After speaking with the office manager they gave me a 1pm the next day into manhatten office. On the train ride to the office I get called telling me my appointment was pushed back to after 2pm. Finally was able to see the doctor who was great. When leaving the office I ask for my ID back that they requested when I got there to make a copy and the receptionist tells me they don't have it so they either lost my ID or gave it to another patient an d are telling me that I must have lost it I never gave it to her. Sad a good doctor has such bad office staff.
Very good Dr.
Dr. Gupta and staff are all top-notch, but the 1+ hour wait was a real bummer. Not made better by the two voicemails and emails (some from Zocdoc, to be fair) reminding me to fill out paperwork before the appointment and make sure to be on time. Things can get behind, of course, and it's no one's fault, but some kind of indication of the degree of lateness from the desk staff would've helped the situation. I honestly would have just rescheduled if I'd know. Dr. Gupta apologized a couple of times and sped the appointment along once I was in, which was gracious and appreciated. This was probably a post-holiday one-off. I'll be returning for sure.
Morning visit, everyone was very efficient.
I really appreciated the care, focus, support, clarity and intellect of the doctor and everyone who works in the office (front desk, MRI tech). This was a very positive first visit and I would recommend Dr. Gupta and this office, fully.
Give yourself more time for his appointment and be prepare to wait for more than 2 hours . I took a nap at the waiting room because that's really too much of a wait. What's the point of making appointment if we still have to wait that long ? His bedside manner was good except that he was in a little hurry. So far I trust his diagnosis. I won't know completely till the next follow-up.
Everything was fine except the long wait to be seen by the doctor.
Dr. Gupta was good about thoroughly explaining what he believed my injuries were, how long they would take to heal (roughly) with treatment. He also requested xrays to be sure and answered my many questions. I would recommend Dr. Gupta without hesitation, he was quite good as a doctor and gracious. However, the wait time to see him was quite long (over an hour) so be sure to give yourself extra time.
This is a busy office with several different doctors. I arrived 20 minutes early to allow for paperwork and was called in 10 minutes after my scheduled appointment. Consultation was done within 10 minutes, x-rays were scheduled and completed with 15 minutes, the doctor returned within 5 minutes after the x-rays to review next steps. His manner was completely professional, thorough, and clear about possible risks and other complications of each treatment option. I was done within an hour.
I've had 6 surgeries spanning over 20 years. Dr Gupta was concise, article and supportive. Very impressed with his professionalism and highly recommend him.
Dr. Gupta is great!
I thought Dr Gupta was very effective at explaining his diagnosis and reasoning behind treatment options. Bedside manner was gentle, efficient, and felt thorough. I came understanding what he looked for and how he arrived at his conclusions.
Dr. Gupta was great, but for whatever reason, ZocDoc allowed me to make an appointment for 7 AM when he's not in until 8:30, so I waited for two hours. However I suspect that that is more ZocDoc's fault.
The Dr is very thorough and has a good manner with his patients. He explains things well and is efficient and caring.
He is an excellent Physicaian who takes great care of his patients.
Dr. Gupta was very professional and takes the time to explain to his patients their situation and answer all questions. I feel confident with Dr. Gupta as my doctor would go back and recommend to anyone
It was a 2-1/2 hour wait. The staff (including Dr Gupta) apologized saying there had been an emergency earlier, causing them to be backed up. While waiting, another new patient was getting antsy; I overheard a repeat patient telling him it was worth the wait. I hate long waits, but I have to agree that it was worth it. Dr. Gupta has an exceptional ability to communicate, listen and empathize with his patients. Even though he was having a hectic day, he made me feel like I was his most important priority. He answered my questions completely and strategized my treatment going forward.
Very quick yet thorough, was in and out in 40 minutes which included getting an xray and going over the results. Dr. Gupta is very friendly and has great bedside manner.
Dr.Gupta is one of the best if not the best Hand sergeon by far.
Straight to the point. Was in and out.
Excellent experience. Highly recommended.
I have seen Dr. Gupta before. He is thoughtful and conservative, explains options clearly.
Everything was good except for the wait time.
Amazing... Very professional
The NYU office is chaotic (I was given a stack of pages to fill out and sign, including one that asked that I acknowledge that I have a hairline fracture, without having seen a doctor!) but Dr. Gupta is great.
everyone was very friendly.
The office was very pleasant and professional. I would recommend Dr. Gupta. He has excellent manners and very thorough and knowledgeable and understanding.
Very wise, thorough, and know's what he is doing! Makes you feel comfortable and covers all the bases needed before proceeding to treatment. Highly Recommend!
Incredibly understanding. Asked good questions to understand my problem. Clearly has expertise and understanding of patients desire to be active but still dealing with injuries.
The office was clean, well organized, and comfortable. The office staff was very polite and personable.
Rude staff and long, long wait. Filled out paperwork after having filled it out on line. Go elsewhere! A disorganized and disrespectful office, all in all.
Dr. Gupta was professional and thorough and I left with a good understanding of my diagnosis and course of treatment
Dr. Gupta is very knowledgeable and had a great bedside manner. The intake nurse was friendly and super helpful as well.
Dr .Gupta & support staff were excellent and I will return for future care. I do have a recommendation: In the case of patients with new Orthopedic injuries who are referred by established MD contacts, I suggest a dialogue / better coordination with the referring MD on the topic of immediate & direct referral between offices, so that the injured patient can be seen more promptly by the Orthopedist This is preferable to the scenario where the patient goes home & then seeks an Ortho appointment on her own.
I really enjoyed being checked by Dr.Gupta. He's a very thorough and knowledgeable Dr.
Poorly run practice with unacceptably long wait times. Avoid.
Attentive and willing to help and listen to my story. Awful wait time. Worst wait time I have recently experienced
Put my mind at ease. Very nice and professional. Highly recommended.
Dr Gupta was very professional and knowledgeable. I may switch to his Manhattan location but not sure yet.
Dr. Gupta was great; explained everything to me, including all the options to treat my tendonitis, from most to least conservative.
Nice doctor. Waited over two hours.
I saw Dr. Gupta twice for carpal tunnel syndrome. At the first visit he listened patiently to my 20+ year history of on-and-off symptoms while he did various tests with his hands. He sent me for testing, and on my followup visit he clearly explained my options. He is very thorough and clear. A definite recommendation.
Dr. Gupta is great with explaining the problem and solutions.
Both my son and I have gone to Dr. Gupta for hand and shoulder related problems. He is really a fantastic doctor. He take his time with each patient, is a great listener, presents all the options and takes effective action to address orthopedic problems. I am very impressed with him.
Very nice and competent doctor that was happy to answer any questions I had.
Dr. Gupta is a very professional, extremely polite and friendly. He discussed next steps and, although a orthopedic surgeon, did not immediately suggest surgery.
I really liked Dr. Gupta, he had a great bedside manner and did a great job of explaining my injury and I appreciated that he provided a bevy of options for me to deal with it.
I had a problem with my fingers with the tendons and need it surgery Dr Gupta was incredible he did the surgery his work is right on point great hands and very sensitive to patients worry's the office people are very friendly and very professional but the person that help me the most to get my hand much better is Leslie Diamond she is a very caring person and takes her work very seriously between Dr Gupta and Leslie i know that i will be one hundred percent very soon thank you to all of you great team of people
He was great. Very knowledgeable, and was able to talk me through the diagnosis and treatment options in a very helpful way.
Super personable. Spent adequate time with me and made sure all of my questions were answered. Highly recommend!
Within seconds of my arrival, I was led to x-ray and seen promptly there. Films processed in two minutes. Led back to the exam room. Dr. Gupta entered almost immediately, evaluated the films, and interpreted them for me. His examination of the affected area was gentle but thorough enough to allow him to diagnose the status of my condition. He made me feel comfortable throughout the visit. Could not have been a better visit to a medical specialty office.
The doctor is nothing short of amazing. No exaggeration, he explains things clearly and is very patient. The only issue I had wasn't with him at all...it was the wait time. It was horrendous. I waited for (no joke) 2 hours before I was seen and roughly another half hour before my splint was created. I would say it's worth it to see the doctor, but take a full days off work. It will literally take up your entire afternoon.
Dr. Gupta was knowledgeable, experienced and friendly. His office staff is great!
Dr. Gupta took more time with me than I expected. He seems very alert to new and trending medicine, very concerned with my issue (a hand problem) and had treatment options which he explained to my satisfaction. After one visit, so far I am satisfied more than I thought I would be, and am looking forward to another office visit. I would definitely recommend Dr. Gupta and his office staff to anyone with hand issues (arthritis, Dupuytren's contracture, carpal, etc.).
Dr Gupta is a HAND specialist, which ZocDoc doesn't mention. I had knee/hip pain. But he was helpful anyways. Extremely efficient (but did not rush me at all). Kind. Funny. Charming. A good doctor. Got me in and out for my x-ray, and made sure I had a good referral.
This Doctor took the time to explain in plain English, what is going on with my injured hand (right hand ring finger badly swollen from a fall down a few steps at home) and what I can do to help in the healing process. Nothing was broken but the soft tissue was injured in the fall so he explained what was wrong and what can be done to make it heal as soon as possible. I highly recommend Dr. Gupta for his approach and assertiveness in addressing this issue.
Dr Gupta was great. He is very thorough and took time to explain everything to me in laymen's terms. The office was very busy (hence the longer wait time), but I had a question I forgot to ask initially, and he stopped by to help in between other patients. Very enjoyable experience and I would definitely recommend to a friend.
Dr. Gupta was a fantastic doc. He took his time, was thorough, and really explained his diagnosis. The downside is that the wait took over 1.5 hours. Folks on this board commented that it was an issue, so if you do go, expect great treatment but expect to have to sit awhile.
My only problem was with the extremely long wait period, compounded by an encouragement to go to a lunch (it was 2pm after waiting 45 minutes) downstairs with the promise they would call me as son as my appointment was ready. They never did. A flippant comment by an uninformed collegue did not help. The Doctor was incredibly sympathetic, professional, and apologetic, but the fact remains that I lost 3 hours of my work day. Doctor seems very professional although I did not understand the physiological logistics of how his apparatus was going to heal my broken hand.... Although, admittedly, it is likely due to my lack of understanding of biology and the reparative powered of the human body., and not the doctor's ability. We will see.
Dr. Gupta takes the time to listen, gives complete and clear explanations as well as all options. I made an early morning appointment to make sure I did not have a long wait and was happy to be taken right away. I would recommend without hesitation.
Dr. Gupta is a hand specialist, orthopedic surgeon who proceeds slowly. My hand x-ray revealed a significant amount of bone on bone arthritis of my thumb. Of course it's my dominant hand. Rather than try to schedule a surgery, he detailed the steps and time frame before surgery is an option. Extremely considerate, well spoken and personable. It was a very good experience and I highly recommend Dr. Salil Gupta.
Smart guy. Knowledgeable and listened well to my history and thoughts. Definitely recommend.
Doctor Gupta provided me with an incredibly thorough diagnosis and treatment plan for my wrist pain. He explained everything clearly and made sure that I had any questions answered before finishing our appointment.
I felt like I was in great hands. He was thorough, explained everything to me in detail, and made me feel confident about the recovery process. Wait time was over 45 minutes though. (They had me down for 15 min later than the time I booked through ZocDoc.)
Great bedside manner and knowledgeable. I didn't feel rushed and he even looked at my knee even though it's not his specialty. He was quick to refer me to someone who did specialize in knees.
Horrible wait time. I was gone for 3.5 hours. Ridiculous.
Very pleased with his professionalism
When I arrived for my 10a appointment, I was told Dr. Gupta wouldn't be in the office until 2p. There was no explanation given for the mis-scheduling, and I was rescheduled for later that afternoon. My rescheduled appointment was then again rescheduled, and when I finally saw Dr. Gupta it was half an hour after my appointment time. Turns out he had been called into emergency surgery that day but no one had bothered to call me to cancel my appointment! Incredibly frustrating and unprofessional and I wouldn't recommend Dr. Gupta, even though he was professional and seemed thorough.
Great Doctor! Has a wonderful temperament. He knew exactly what was going on with my hand.Gave me all the options, I felt like going to his office was 100% the right choice for me. I would completely recommend him!
I was beyond impressed with my experience at this doctor's office, Dr. Gupta is very professional and has excellent bedside manners. I would recommend him
Dr. Gupta was efficient, thurough, and just as kind as could' be. He patiently answered all of my questions with explanations I could understand. Staff was as helpful as ever. Another five star visit!
Very impressed with Dr. Gupta and staff. Would highly recommend.
I was seen on time. Wait of less than 5 minutes. Amazing for a busy NYC office. Dr. Gupta's exam was thorough enough to obtain a diagnosis and gentle enough to not cause additional pain to a very tender area. It was obvious that this doctor cares for his patients and enjoys his work. Staff all were knowledgeable, cooperative with each other, smiled often, and seemed happy to be there. All and all a five star experience.
Dr. Gupta was very professional and courteous. He listened to and addressed my concerns. I will say that his office staff seemed overwhelmed. The wait was long and everyone seemed flustered- most likely because there were too many people booked in a short amount of time. Would recommend, but be prepared to wait.
Very professional. Well done.
Extremely professional and knowledgeable. Clearly describes ALL possibilities of actions along with his recommended suggestion which helps a lot. Wait was not an issue and everything in the office from paperwork, x-rays, seeing Dr. Gupta was all fast and smooth! Highly, highly, highly recommended!!
It was a truly wonderful experience. Very professional office with X Ray capability on site. Dr. Gupta took his time to hear all of my concerns, examine me, explain my x rays and potential treatment options, and answer all my questions. He also gave me the heads up that the recommended treatment for my hand may or may not be covered by my insurance. He then gave me options and information on how we can handle this issue and how this would/would not affect my recovery. This helped prevent me from footing the bill if my insurance decided not to cover his recommended treatment. Highly, highly recommended. I will be back should I ever need his services.
Very knowledgeable and informative. Described my issues in terms I understood. Took the time to make sure that I understood and asked if I had any questions or concerns.
The wait was a little long - a bit under 30 minutes - but overall it was a positive experience. Dr. Gupta had a friendly and reassuring demeanor, was knowledgeable, informative and helpful.
Dr Gupta is a really great doctor. I was a little taken aback by his stepping away 3 times during our appt, 2 for phone calls, 1 for a knock at the door by a colleague - the appt seemed rushed. Regardless, my x-ray was super quick, he was great at explaining the surgery to remove some hardware in my clavicle and very kind, even though distracted a bit. Who knows, maybe he was having an insane day, it happens to the best of us.
The doctor was very good and explained things very clearly but be ready to wait for an hour or more.
Despite the long wait to actually be seen by Dr. Gupta, the overall experience was good. Dr. Gupta listened to my chief compliant, asked questions, and provided clear detailed explanation of what was happening to me as well as instructions on how to care for myself.
Dr. Gupta and his staff were kind and his office is lovely. But, sadly, I was very disappointed because, although I mentioned the reasons for my visit when scheduling, during my exam I was told that he could only treat one thing but not the other. The doctor then gave me a referral to someone else for my other condition. This was frustrating and very disappointing because I had taken the day off from work to address these issues. Patients should be forewarned of what can and cannot be addressed.
Second time visiting; left mended, happy, and informed each time.
I only visited him once. He was seemingly pleasant and knowledgeable. His office staff, however, leaves a lot to be desired. They were quite rude....both in person and on the phone. Unfortunately, as a result,I would never return.
The wait was too long and i was on time. The . Paperwork didnt apply to me, yet iw qs gien them to figure it out. The.doctor and xray tech were offensive in their demeanor.
Comprehensive approach to treatment before thinking surgery!
Great doctor! He knows his stuff. Super friendly and fun guy. The wait time was fine and the staff was very friendly. I'm going back for sure.
Very professional, surgery went excellent.
Dr. Salil Gupta was able to diagnose my injuries right away and suggested me good options to help the situation for short term and long term permanent fix. Great experience. I will refer him to my friends and family in a blink of an eye !
Very knowledgeable and pleasant. Great experience.
While he seemed knowledgable, he didn't really take what I was saying seriously and wasn't very interested in finding out what was wrong. He didn't really listen/care about what my previous doctors had said, gave me a diagnosis extremely quickly which was different from what I had been told before and was very rushed and busy and didn't really have much time to spend with me. Not to mention I waited forever. I kept asking about different diagnosis and asking for tests which he didn't suggest. Overall, for someone specializing in hand/ arm issues which I had, I didn't get a solution to my problem or come any closer to knowing what was wrong. He gave me a brace and sent me to hand therapy, neither of which helped my issue. He came as a recommendation and maybe he is good, but he wasn't very helpful to me.
Dr Gupta was very professional , pleasant and thorough, his receptionist was extremely pleasant, as were the rest of his staff. The problem was the waiting time, i waited an hour and a half before being seen! i had read reviews about his wait time , so I was prepared for maybe 40 minutes but this was far too long, especially when in pain, the receptionist was very apologetic, and later did warn patients of the delay, which makes a big difference. the waiting time would be the only reason I would hold back on 5 stars.
I dislocated my shoulder last week while playing basketball, but the shoulder went back into place on its own quickly after the incident. However, days after the injury, my shoulder came out (and quickly went back in) while I was sleeping. Although my shoulder dislocated once before in 2012, these two recent occurrences shook me up. I made an appointment with Dr. Gupta based upon ZocDoc reviews and my insurance provider's list of physicians. Despite the wait time (which, when considering the wait time in other doctors' offices in NYC, was not so bad), I was very pleased with my initial visit with Dr. Gupta. After discussing my history of shoulder issues, he performed some quick "range-of-motion" tests and had my shoulder x-rayed (in-house). After evaluating my x-rays (which came up clear from any fractures or misalignments), he gave me some practical advice to help ensure that my shoulder heals properly. Moreover, Dr. Gupta scheduled me for an off-site MRI with dye - an additional precaution so he can evaluate any tears in my shoulder and advise me as to whether surgery is an option worth considering. I will write a review for my follow up visit in the upcoming weeks, but for now, I'm happy with my initial visit.
This is my first time visiting Dr. Gupta. he struck me as Very professional & very thorough. I went with a shoulder injury and he explained what is happening, which made perfect sense.
Excellent attention and bedside manner.
A good experience. He explained my injury clearly and was very reassuring about my recovery.
Great doctor one of the best!!
I was very happy with my results and visit
Dr. Gupta was very good. He clearly understood my problem and how to treat it. However, as I saw in many other comments, the wait time was quite long, so it's best to go at a time when you're not in a hurry and to be prepared to sit for a bit.
Dr. Gupta is very professional, knowledgeable, and courteous: someone you can trust. If the wait time seems just a bit long, that's because he's going to give each patient his full attention.
I thought Dr Gupta was very professional and thorough. Although the appointment started late, I was happy to meet with such a competent doctor. In just this one meeting, I feel a confidence that unfortunately isn't always present when I meet with other members of the medical profession!
Doctor was great, but wait in office was not. Would have appreciated being told they were running behind when I arrived -- they clearly already knew how bad it was -- I waited 90+ min! Fortunately, once I got to see Dr Gupta, it seemed worth the wait. He listened to my history and concerns, rapidly got a followup X-ray, and scheduled for out-patient surgery within the week.
Wait was awful but staff was very nice and Dr was very pleasant and knowledgeable
Straight forward and informative. Listened to and addressed my questions and concerns. Office staff was cordial and efficient.
Knowledgable, good explanations. Took over 30 minutes to see the doctor after I was admitted into a room, which was annoying. After that the experience was good.
He was calming. Relieved much of my anxiety.
He was very thorough and knowledgeable. I highly recommend him.
I waited o hour and 40 minutes.......
very pleasant, knowledgeable, honest, candid and patient; will answer as many questions as you have in response to the many other reviews regarding wait time - maybe my experience was exceptional, but i didn't wait long at all. less than five minutes while they reviewed my paperwork when i first walked in, another few minutes waiting to get an xray, another few minutes to get into an exam room, and then about 5-10 minutes waiting for dr. gupta. not bad at all. and even if he was overbooked, he didn't act like it and i didn't feel like i was being rushed.
Very good experience. He was thorough and took time to explain the issues with my hand in depth and then proposed various options for treatment. Very helpful experience and I feel better already.
Good just took way too long in the waiting room.
I went to him for a second opinion. I found him to be direct, highly professional and respectful of my questions.
An hour before the appointment, a receptionist called and asked if I'd like come 10-15 minutes earlier due to doctor's availability. I obliged and arrived before the allotted time. However, I ended waiting 30 minutes past the actual appointment time before I could see the doctor. Very frustrating especially during my short lunch break at work.
So far so good. He is detailed and friendly. Arrived late and staff didn't condemn me for it.
Very happy with the experience. Nurse, X-ray tech, doctor, were all pleasant and put me at ease.
I will visit him again. I thought he was highly professional and answered all of my questions. He has limited office hours in Queens, but I would use the Manhattan office anytime.
Very thorough examination and he didn't try to immediately suggest surgery, medications etc.
Good visiot--very professional
I gotta admit, for someone I found through the internet (here on ZocDoc, to be exact), I had no idea what to expect, but I was quite impressed w/ Dr. Gupta & staff. They're professional & really nice folks.
Dr. Gupta was great; he explained everything and recommended a treatment I was very comfortable with. The wait was a little long, but the stuff was very professional, they really tried their best to reduce my wait time. The office accepted my online check-in, so all I had to do is to sign my paperwork.
I liked the doctor.
He was very helpful in explaining what was going on with my wrist problems and how an injury to one area would affect other areas. I think the wait time was a little long, but it seemed like that was out of the ordinary for them. They were otherwise very efficient, so I think it was just an off day.
He’s very good and cares for his patients.
Dr. Gupta and his staff were very professional and I would highly recommend them.
satisfactory Dr Gupta was clear and concise in his explanations of my condition and his diagnosis was quite clear to me. waiting time was 40 minutes, i understand it was my first visit.
The visit went well, but the wait was too long. The long wait caused me to be late for other appointments that I had that day.
I had a very short wait considering how busy the office was. Dr Gupta was great, explained everything and answered ally questions.
It was two hours before I saw the doctor, who I saw for five minutes. If they're that backed up, just call me and reschedule before the appointment--don't destroy my entire day!! People in the waiting room indicated this is par for the course for him. I was also, unsurprisingly, rushed through my appointment. Dr. Gupta was a disappointment after the long wait (but I suppose at that point Galen would be, too). He spoke VERY quickly, couldn't figure out the problem, wouldn't write down instructions when I asked him to, and told me to just take Aleve. I've had problems with that joint for five years and that was my answer? Won't ever go back.
His treament, efficiency, and manner amaze me.
He's great. Staff is nice and really thoughtful. Wait was over an hour which just shouldn't be the case and which can't help but bring down the overall experience a little.
Thoroughly looked at the injury and detailed explanation. I left feeling pretty happy with and see how the healing progresses.
He did well by me.
Dr. Gupta was great - he was personable and explained everything to me clearly. He answered all my questions and never made me feel rushed. HOWEVER, the wait was really, really long. My appointment was at 9:15, I spent 10 minutes filling out paperwork, and when I gave it back I was told they were 20-30 minutes behind. About 30 minutes later, I was taken into the exam room, but I waited there another 20 minutes before the doctor saw me. I would go back because I liked Dr. Gupta, but they really need to work on the scheduling.
Very thorough and helpful!
I came in early and my appointment was 1PM but he took me in at 12:30PM, I was out by 12:45PM. (Male) Receptionist is also very pleasant and effecient!
This is the second time I've waited over an hour for an appointment. I believe this is a trend that should be addressed. They seem to be overbooking the office and the patients end up waiting because of this.
I waited 1,5h and then saw the doctor for 3 minutes and then he recommended me to see someone else. Not the best experience. He is a very nice doctor though.
Great doctor but the wait time was a little out of hand. Then again, I'd rather have a long wait and a high-quality doctor than a short wait for a poor doctor.
Dr. Gupta was very personable and knowledgable, but the wait time in the office was unbearable. They must quadrouple book each appointment slot. I waited for an hour and a half before being seen.
Nice doctor - very clinical
I liked Dr. Gupta alot. He explained things very clearly, answered all my questions patiently and was easy to talk to. Also his staff seemed very competent as well.
He was fine - not great, not terrible.
He's very nice, professional and efficient!
Friendly staff members (front desk helped me with filling up the right documents, fast service (XRay) - took me in right away. Waited less than 5 minutes for MD Gupta, very pleasant and explained everything clearly. Will definitely recommend!
He's great. He took care of my problem and explain in detail what was wrong and different option treatments. The treatments were discussed in detailed weighting pros and cons until we reached one we both liked. I am now pain free.
Dr. Gupta was pleasant, patient and very informative with all my questions and concerns. I didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes for my appointment after filling out the initial paperwork.
He was very straight to the point but gave precis details.
I was told I didn't have ortho problem, but Dr. Gupta answered all my questions.
He was friendly and really helpful. Dr. Gupta answered all my questions. He also did an x-ray to ensure his original diagnosis was correct.
My only complaint was the wait time - about 50 minutes. Otherwise, very impressed!
Good helped me a 100%
Overall I was satisfied with this visit. He was very professional and explained everything so I would understand. Would recommend this MD.
My visit with Dr. Gupta had some problems. When I initially came to the office, the receptionist mentioned something about not having my appointment on file even though it was made through ZocDoc. Then I waited for over 2 hours before being seen by the doctor. On the other hand, the appointment went very smoothly when I was seen. Him and his staff were all very pleasant, helpful and apologetic about the wait time, which they noted was unusual.
Through, took time to explain conclusions.
Have seen two other Drs. concerning some nerve damage, both of whom wanted to operate. Gupta's conservative recommendations have proved more than adequate treatment.
Dr gupta was amazing. Very help full also very sweet not rude He explain every thing to me I need to know and I would highly recommend .
He did well treat and guided.
Dr. Gupta and his entire staff are the best! Hand surgeons are VERY difficult to find and one who's talented and you actually enjoy visiting NEARLY impossible, unless you see Dr. G!
I've been going to Dr. Gupta on and off for a couple of years - must say he is one of the smartest, most professional and thorough doctors I've ever been to - also, a very nice guy. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.
Overall a good experience. The big negative-- arriving to fill out 6 pages of forms (they should be available online or on ZocDoc in advance) and then waiting for 45 minutes in a reception area and then examination room while the Doctor was outside in the hallway chewing the fat with some colleagues, dictating some patient work, and moving back and forth. Treating patient time as valuable would make my recommendation 5 stars. Otherwise, decent manner-- a little bit informal. Not as gentle as I might have imagined.
He was incredibly informing. He gave me an understanding of my situation, and was thoroughly knowledgable about what was wrong, how it was wrong, and how to correct it. Although the wait time was long, his service was worth the wait.
Very thorough. Diagnosis not yet complete, but was very patient in explaining what he was looking for, etc.
Great guy. Definitely knows his stuff and was able to refer me to a good physical therapy place. Bring something to do while you wait. You might be there for a while...
The doctor is good and thorough however there is a very long wait time to see the doctor. I am not sure if that was a busy day or appointments are organized well. Apart from the wait time, I would recommend this doctor.
He was great--the wait was just so terrible. Hurricane appointment cancelations. Yikes!
Great doctor but the office staff are very disorganized. I had to wait almost 1.5 hrs to see the Dr., who when I did see was excellent
I've been a patient of Dr. Gupta for over two years. He is very patient and professional. His appointments were backed up due to emergencies and appointments made through Zoc Doc, but he still took time to see me as well as everyone who was waiting.
Fantastic! Worth the wait - very thorough and took time to explain everything.
Once I actually got into the office, my experience with Dr. Gupta was great. He was patient, considerate, and explained everything very thoroughly. It was the wait time that was really problematic and would have me reconsider coming back--I had to wait about an hour from the time I got there.
Dr. Gupta was very clear about what I could and could not do, given my hand injury. He also let me know what to expect, what changes would indicate trouble, and how to handle it. Exactly what I needed to know.
Dr Gupta exuded confidence, knowledge and trust. I immediately felt I had gone to an expert and he was thorough and thoughtful too.
Dr. Gupta was very pleasant and explained my condition to me so that I understood why my wrist hurt.
very unhelpful and standoffish
Dr. Gupta was a kind and helpful doctor. He helped me get back to doing the things i love.
Absolutely phenominal! My second Orthopedic doctor and will be my last! Left the office smiling knowing My arm is in safe Hands. Very thorough and detailed with his diagnosis. No guess work. Very very patient with his patients.
So far so good. I thought he just specialized in Hands and Upper extremeties, however he does practice general orthopedics which is great! Got a bunch of x-rays done and was out of the office in less than 90 mins.
Dr. Gupta remains both caring and clearly knowledgeable. While some doctors give only cursory exams before guessing at the problem, Dr. Gupta gave a whole battery of simple physical tests, repeated some of them when the answers didn't make everything immediately clear, and explained every step of the way what he was testing and what the results were telling him. I feel greatly reassured as a result -- both about my condition being not too bad, and about how successful we'll be in treating it.
Dr Gupta was outstanding in every way. He was through in his exam, extremely detailed in his evaluation and explanation of my son's issue, and was very open to further contact if needed. Additionally, his staff was swift, friendly and efficient. Extremely highly recommended!
very nice guy, super helpful.
I like visiting Dr Gupta, he's pleasant, not too much wait time and he's very professional
Dr. Gupta is a knowledgeable professional. However the wait was way too long (2 hrs). They should do a better job making sure appointments run on time.
Dr Gupta was a great doctor. He explains everything that you need to know. He is such an accommodating doctor. I would highly recommend him to other patients.
Hand injuries are something that should be treated by the best, and Dr. Gupta is exactly that. He and his entire staff are wonderful! Theyre caring, knowledgeable and true professionals that I trust implicitly and recommend strongly.
Dr. Gupta is truly a professional. His breadth of knowledge is unparalleled and his bed side manner is superb. He took time to explain things in detail to me and made sure that all my concerns were taken care of before I left. I would recommend him to anyone.
Dr. Gupta was competent and professional. I cannot say the same for the office staff who were dismissive. I was on time for my appointment but had to wait more than an hour to see the doc, then again for 20 mins after my xray.
Dr. Gupta provided a thorough and efficient examination. He clearly knows his stuff with hand anatomy, and his manner was great; I've already recommended him. It's too soon to say whether the treatment he recommended will result in long-term resolution of my problem, though hopefully I'll be able to report back later.
Very smart, attentive, friendly, and helpful. Liked him a lot.
He's been my doctor since 2008.. he always listens and explains everything.. very caring..I highly recommend him!
There had been an emergency in the office in the morning which caused appointments to be backed up (nice of staff to give explanation), so that was a bit disappointing. My meeting with Dr. Gupta himself MORE than made up for that disappointment. He's articulate, direct, thorough and I would recommend him HIGHLY to others.
friendly, attentive, understood the issue. forwarded me onto a specialist when exceeded his comfort level for speciality. highly recommended
Dr. Gupta answered my questions and gave me helpful advice for a swift recovery.
He was kind, interested and professional.
When I finally saw him, Dr. Gupta was kind, knowledgeable, personable, and professional. I will return to his office, but will try to be one of the first appointments of the day rather than one of the last.
Dr. Gupta is knowledgeable and kind. However, his Queens waiting room (shared with a physical therapist practice) is packed with people. The TV is tuned to moronic daytime game shows, and the volume is up full blast. The office staff is inefficient, and their work area is cramped and disorganized. It took a long time to see Dr. Gupta, and the loud, stressful waiting room made me want to leave.
Dr. Gupta was very professional and at the same time warm and very plesant. All the staff were also very kind and warm. It was a pleasure and excellent experience, I would recommend Dr.Gupta as they say in a New York minute.
The doctor was patient and spent enough time with me to understand the problem. However, when my MRI results were back, he would not go over them on the phone and I was required to go back only to know that nothing was wrong. Good diagnosis and treatment though.
Overall the doctor appointment was fine, but getting to see the doctor was the most difficult thing. Prior to arriving for my apt, I called in to make sure things were running on time. The receptionist said they were, but after arriving at the office the receptionist realized he made a mistake and told me there was an hour wait! Dr. Gupta is knowledgeable, but I did feel rushed because he was falling behind his schedule. He cut me off when I asked questions and was ready to move on to the next patient before I could ask him all my questions. I was also not happy when other patients were accidentally taken before me even when I was waiting in the doctor's office. It feels like he is quiet busy based on other reviews. If you are looking for somebody who can take you in and out, he is not the one.
He seemed incredibly intelligent and was over-all very friendly, I did find that I felt a little rushed to speak but he did answer all of my questions. I would say however that he was the most professional doctor I have been to yet in Manhattan. It is also hard to find his receptionists desk without having been there before- I was waiting for a half hour in the main waiting room while no one was at the front desks at that time in the morning, and then when someone did come to the front desk, I found that Dr. Gutpa's desk was down a hall and down another hall with no visual directions of any kind. Make sure to ask someone where to go!
1hour wait and no apologies. rushing through the visit: for instance not let me finish describe my symptoms. no explanation of meaning of tests that he was performing on me: I just had to deduct that everything was ok. no explanation while reading x-rays. visit time no more than 10-15 minutes.
Seems to be an intelligent, time efficient diagnostic physician.
