Getting to know Samuel (Sam) Burress

I am a psychiatric nurse practitioner who provides medication evaluations and ongoing medication management through telehealth for adults in Washington. My goal is to make psychiatric care simple, predictable, and honest. I frequently work with anxiety, depression, ADHD, substance abuse concerns, bipolar disorder, trauma related symptoms, attention difficulties, and more. Same day and next day appointments are available. I take many major insurances (Aetna, BCBS, Regence, Premera, Cigna). I also offer affordable cash pay pricing ($200 new patient visits, $90 follow ups)

What should a new client know about working with you?

I keep things simple and straightforward. I explain why I recommend each medication and I make sure you feel included in the plan. You will always know what the next step is, what to expect, and what our follow up schedule should look like. I respond quickly, I respect your time, and I do not make things complicated. My goal is to make medication management feel calm, predictable, and honest. When you book an appointment with me, I will reach out with instructions on how to join your virtual visit. You will also get a link to easily join Headway which is how we bill your insurance for visits. This lets us get an instant look at your estimated cost for co-pays. Most of my patients have an average cost of $20 when using insurance.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first visit focuses on understanding your symptoms, history, and goals. We decide together whether medication makes sense and which options fit best. Follow up visits are used to monitor how you are responding, adjust doses if needed, and keep the plan clear and consistent over time.
