Dr. Cho himself was genial, articulate, informative and suitably cautious. The experience at Mt. Sinai Othopedic Center wasn't so great. Had to wait 1 hr 45 min after my scheduled appointment time to see him. Then another half-hour afterwardfor a scrip for an MRI at the lab upstairs -- which had just closed when I got there. Have to go back again.

Love Dr. Cho. Scheduling staff clearly has opportunities. 3 visits with Dr. and wait times have been 45 min., 10 min. early (yea) and 1 hour plus. Obviously not a new problem since this feedback is noted in other reviews. Frontdesk staff is robotic with no empathy and no apologies for wait. Scheduling is not their fault but you work in the medical field so at least pretend you care about the patients. I've seen other Dr.'s at the Spine Center and have not experienced the scheduling issues that Dr. Cho's office is clearly faced. His team could learn from other team members. All of that aside, he is a wonderful surgeon with a great bedside manner.

The office staff was efficient. Not warm, but kept things moving. I had an 8am appointment and spent 30 minutes or so filling out paperwork before seeing anyone. But once the paperwork was done all facets of the appointment went fast. The PA saw me within just a few minutes of my being led to an exam room. I had X-rays done right after that just a few doors down from the exam room. Very convenient. Dr. Cho came in just a few minutes after that. He was good about showing me the x-ray and explaining what he saw and what it meant for my condition. And gave me time to ask questions.

Dr. Samuel Cho is truly great physician. He was referred to me by my Primary Care Physician for a chronic lower back problem. He was really patience, listened to my concerns and provided a way to help me. He explained thesurgery procedure in detail and answered all my questions for the before and after the procedure. He always have a team of doctors with him for my visits which makes me feel more confident about my procedure. Great communication outside the office, emails were answered within a few hours. Paperwork were done in a timely manner. The only part that I need to do now is to follow up with Physical Therapy. Life is looking good again for me. Thank you Dr. Cho!!

Overall the visit went ok. Although it didn't get off to a great start. I waited for about 30 mins (already in the patient room). I was starting to get annoyed at the long wait when the PA walked in andexplained Dr Cho was running late. So basically she conducted the visit. She did a great Job and was very professional. Almost at the end of the visit, Dr Cho walked in and just confirmed his PA's prognosis.

This was my first visit to Dr. Cho's office so I had to go through roughly 30 minutes of paperwork, which I thought to be standard, and I had forgotten to get my visit pre-approved by my primary physician so Dr.Cho's front office staff helped me with that. After I finished the paperwork, I was taken back to an exam room within 5-minutes. The nurse asked me some medical history questions, took my blood pressure and then told me that I would first be seen by the PA (Physicians assistant) and then Dr. Cho. I asked if I would be seen by both of them today and I was told that I would. Gabriella, the PA, came into the exam room within 5-minutes and examined me. I felt that she was taking my medical issues seriously and that I was able to clearly communicate to her what those issues were. I felt that the exam was thorough and that the medical care from Gabriella was excellent. I was then taken to another room for x-rays and then returned to the exam room. I waited only a few minutes before both Gabriella and Dr. Cho entered the exam room. Gabriella had explained my complaints, signs, and symptoms to Dr. Cho who asked me a few more questions before also asking me to perform some tasks to further evaluate my spine. Dr. Cho and Gabriella both recommended an immediate MRI and Dr. Cho told me that I may require "minor spine surgery" and that I may or may not fully recover due to the seriousness of the injury. I can tell you that I did appreciate his candor. Dr. Cho gave me a prescription for oral steroids and told me to come back after I got the MRI to discuss diagnosis and options. Gabriella stayed in the room and spent another 20 minutes getting me scheduled for a stat MRI which I thought was very nice of her to do. Gabriella was able to get me into the MRI late that afternoon and the MRI was performed. I am waiting to hear back about the results. My first experience with both Gabriella and Dr. Cho far exceeded my expectations.

Dr. Cho by far has been the most helpful and thorough Surgeon that I have met with in regards to my back surgery options. I left feeling confident that I would be in great hands in preparation for my upcoming surgery.Up until this point I felt confused, defeated and scared that I wouldn't get better. thankfully that changed after my consultation with Dr. Cho.

Dr. Cho was excellent. However, the wait to see him was over 1 hour, and there was no room to sit. If I were to choose him for my spine surgery, I'd have to think long & hard because of the horrific office atmosphere.

The distinguished record of Dr. Cho includes his blue-chip education and his many awards for outstanding performance. I selected him on the basis of his stellar profile. In person, he is thoughtful, thorough, personable, and most importanthe is right. He diagnosed my situation whereas other phsysicians could not figure the cause of my "winging scapula." Dr. Cho is also a humanitarian who does pro-bono surgery in less-developed countries. This is an outstanding physician and specialist.

Dr. Cho was very helpful and didn't recommend unnecessary treatments, which I appreciated. The only issue I had was that it took about 40 minutes after I was shown to the examination room and took the initial X-Rays to actually seeDr. Cho. I'd still go to him, but would recommend definitely get as early of a morning appointment as possible (which is what I had and so I presume the wait gets significantly worse as the day progresses).

Dr Cho helped me with a herniated disc and compressed vertebrae , he and his surgical team were very generous with time and attention. Its a whole lot better 3 months out. Surgery was still painful, but it seems to bepaying off as I couldn't bend over and pick something off the ground and now I can!

Dr. Cho didn't examine me, the extent of his contributions was explaining that I will need an MRI. I came to him with prolonged back pain and a lump that I found in one of my muscles. His assistant gathered allof my information and then Dr. Cho came into the room and explained that I will need an MRI, PT and then left. He did not ask me about my pain or my limitations as far as bending/twisting, or explain why this keeps happening to me and he did not examine the lump I found in my muscle even after I told him about it. One of the least satisfactory doctor appointments I have ever experienced. Not what I expected from someone specialized in spinal health.
