Although I wasn’t able to have him as my MH provider, he was gentle, he listened, and still gave me a brief outlook of what I should look for, when I find a provider who accepts my insurance. Finally, he kept his word in sending over referrals for providers who do accept my insurance. I recommend his services

Dr. Sam Golden is a full-time Psychologist at The Center for Progressive Psychotherapy. Dr. Golden has trained in dynamic, dialectical-behavioral and mindfulness-based psychotherapies. He works with adults struggling with dissatisfaction in their relationships, careers, self-perception, and other aspects of life that bring meaning and fulfillment. Dr. Golden values the opportunity to help people with complex life challenges, including survivors of trauma.
“Working together in therapy, we will co-create a unique experience in which you feel connected rather than alone, purposeful rather than lost, and self-compassionate rather than critical. My aim will be to facilitate a therapeutic relationship grounded in safety and trust. In this shared space, we will help you make the changes needed to ease the suffering from life’s many challenges. By increasing the awareness and understanding of the emotions present in your mind and body, we will promote your strength, expression and creativity along your journey towards healing.”
Dr. Golden earned his undergraduate degree (B.S.) in pre-med psychology from Loyola University New Orleans before completing his Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) at Rutgers University. His past training experiences have allowed him to conduct therapy in college counseling, inpatient and outpatient locations in New York, New Jersey and New Orleans. Before joining CPP, Dr. Golden completed his pre-doctoral internship at the Brooklyn Veterans Affairs Medical Center where he practiced individual, group and couples therapy. While at the VA, he worked with veterans and their family members spanning many generations and representative of the diverse backgrounds that populate New York City.
