Recognized as the "2013 American Optometric Association's Young Optometrist Of the Year", Dr. Sandra Fortenberry is kind, compassionate, and detailed Optometrist treating patients in San Antonio and surrounding communities. Outside of her private practice, you'll find Dr. Fortenberry lecturing as an Assistant Professor at the University of Incarnate Word - Rosenberg School of Optometry.
Dr. Fortenberry grew up in West Texas and graduated from Abilene Christian University with a Bachelor's degree in Biology.
She graduated optometry school from the University of Houston College of Optometry where she also completed a Community-Based Family Practice Residency. Dr. Fortenberry is the Director of Continuing Education and Professional Relations at the Rosenberg School of Optometry and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association and Bexar County Optometric Association.
