She received her undergraduate degree in biology from Washington College on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. She received her medical degree from Poznan University of Medical Sciences located in the heart of Europe. After all her travels, she returned to New York and completed her residency training at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. She loved Brooklyn so much that she stayed there and practiced outpatient pediatrics for ten years before deciding to settle down in the Lower Hudson Valley. She is looking forward to laying roots in this area. In addition to being board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Hughes is also a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is an affiliate of New York – Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville, New York. Dr. Hughes loves working in outpatient pediatrics, because she enjoys watching her patients grow. She also enjoys reading, traveling, letting her husband do the cooking, and sharing pictures of her little girl.
