Sanjay Smith, M.D. received his medical degree from Drexel University’s College of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. This was followed by a transitional internship at Flushing Medical Center in New York City, ophthalmology residency at New York Medical College Cartitas Health Care Brooklyn and Queens division, where he served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Smith then completed a glaucoma fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania’s Scheie Eye Institute. After completing his fellowship he received the National Medical Association’s Fellows Award for Outstanding Research in Ophthalmology.
Dr. Smith is currently head of glaucoma services at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, and Maimonides Medical Center Medical and Surgical Eye care.
Dr. Smith has special interests in laser/surgical treatment of glaucoma and cataract extraction.
