About Sarah Halabu

I am a Registered Dietitian focused on weight loss, diabetes management, and long term metabolic health, offering care that blends science with real lived experience. I specialize in diabetes management, prediabetes, obesity, insulin resistance, PCOS, and sustainable weight loss. I have lived with Type 1 Diabetes for nearly 30 years, and that experience shapes the way I practice. I understand how personal and emotional this work can be, and I take great care to create a space where you feel understood, supported, and never judged. My approach is grounded in science and real life. I focus on sustainable habits, clear education, and a long term partnership that helps you feel more confident in your body and your health. Many of my patients begin with weekly visits, then move to biweekly and monthly follow ups as their comfort and skills grow. This structure supports lasting change rather than short term pressure. Your first visit is centered entirely on you. I spend most of our time listening and getting to know your routines, challenges, and goals. We talk about what has and has not worked for you and what matters most right now. My lived experience allows me to connect with patients in a way that blends clinical understanding with genuine empathy. If you use diabetes technology, we can review CGM or pump data together. Once I understand your story, we begin shaping a plan that feels realistic and manageable. Here are a few things we may cover during your first visit • A conversation about your medical history, labs, medications, and eating patterns • A review of your goals and what you want to focus on • A look at CGM or pump data if you use diabetes technology • A discussion about what has and has not worked for you • A collaborative plan for next steps that feels doable and supportive • A follow up rhythm so you know what comes next This is the beginning of a supportive, long-term relationship designed to help you move forward with confidence as your best self

Great diabetes education not just generic nutrition advice. As a type 1 diabetic I've had several unhelpful dieticians because they don't understand the disease. This was not the case with this provider.
