I have been a patient of Dr. Cutler's for over 4 years. He is the only mental health professional, both for talk therapy as well as medical needs, that has ever really helped me. I don't think I've ever had another doctor who actually cared about me as a person. Dr. Cutler is a rare breed---a truly knowledgeable, caring, professional, kind doctor and listener. He has helped me change my health and life.
Wonderful caring Dr
I wasn't there for psychotherapy but for medication, but he treated me as a hapless person in need of his sage counsel and would offer me advice that he was not in qualified to give based on very little information from me. He would do this in a manner that was very condescending When I tried to explain what he was missing or why his advice wasn't relevant to the situation It seemed almost comical at times because he would treat it as a debate. He got miffed easily and at times downright insulting and sarcastic. He would often repeat things verbatim as though he thought I didn't remember or was too stupid to get something unless it was repeated. I became reluctant to even admit I still had side effects since it would lead to his telling me word for word the same things that I should be doing that would help as though I wasn't doing these things, or couldn't keep them straight in my tiny little brain. For a mental health provider he was not very insightful, and lacked listening and observational skills. I could see no clinical justification for his approach, but I was afraid that if I protested I wouldn't get my prescription so until I could make other arrangements, I listened politely, but I would not recommend his services.
He is very calming and a great listener. Dr. Cutler always somehow manages to sort through the chaos that is my head and ask just the right questions that get my brain working in the right directions and help me problem solve.
Dr. Cutler is fantastic.
Dr Cutler is very professional and smart about pharmaceuticals. He has a calming demeanor, very thoughtful and he helped me think about and manage my situation well. Highly reccomended.
Dr Cutler was wonderful--he gave me a great diagnosis that helped me tremendously. He's a smart, attentive, and careful person. Definitely someone you can trust.
While it was only my first appointment, I would definitely recommend Dr. Cutler. He seemed to be genuinely interested in what I had to say, took notes and asked thoughtful questions about my past, and concerns/hopes for future treatment. His office had a comfortable atmosphere and his demeanor was caring and professional.
I didn't like seeing Dr. Cutler. There were a few really long awkward silences when he couldn't think of anything to ask me. He also asks the same questions multiple times and kindof seems to pry into my life and give me advice i don't need. I would not recommend him to anyone.
Very professional, easy to talk to
He is great. Very easy to talk to and very insightful. I look forward to his visits and feel he is and has been very helpful with my issues. Highly recommend.
Best Psychiatrist/Doctor experience ever in NYC. It's really hard to find a doctor that really cares in the city and Dr.Cutler is one that really cares about the patient. Thank You!
Great, thoughtful psychiatrist! Easy to talk to!
Dr. Cutler was my best ZocDoc Experience. He asked all of the right questions and was very forthcoming with regards to how he can help me, which turned into a very pleasant experience. I've already scheduled a follow-up appointment, and look forward to hopefully finding my long term doctor for my needs.
I had my first visit with Dr. Cutler and my initial impression is that he is great. He expressed a genuine interest in my issues and I felt very at ease and comfortable talking to him. I look forward to going back and having him as my psychiatrist.
