About Dr. Sergei Sobolevsky
Dr. Sergei A. Sobolevsky is a vascular and interventional specialist and the founder of Downtown Vein and Vascular Treatment Center in Carrol Gardens and South Brooklyn, New York.
His practice is based on minimally invasive image guided precision management of peripheral artery disease, varicose veins, and various types of endovascular embolization aimed at treatment of uterine fibroids, prostate enlargement, knee pain, testicular pain, infertility, hemorrhoids, erectile disorder, and many other conditions.
Dr Sobolevsky received his specialty training in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center at Harvard University in Boston, MA.
He received an MD degree from University of Colorado School of Medicine, and trained in Surgery and Radiology at Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center in New Brunswick, NJ and SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY.
Dr Sobolevsky received his MBA degree at the MIT Sloan School of Management in Boston, MA.
Previously, Dr. Sobolevsky served as a Chief of Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Columbia University Medical Center where he headed a large academic department based at four major academic hospitals and two Outpatient Centers in New York. Under his directorship the department employed 12 full time academic attendings and trained 3 fellows per year. He founded and directed the Hepatobiliary Tumor Board at Columbia University.
While at Columbia University, Dr. Sobolevsky also served as Director of the New York State Center for Management of Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia, a multispecialty center housing 10 medial subspecialties and delivering comprehensive clinical management to patients with Osler-Weber-Rendu syndrome.
Prior to his work at Columbia University, Dr. Sobolevsky served as Chief of Interventional Radiology and Image Guided Medicine at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY and as an attending at the Beth Israel Medical Center in Manhattan, NY

Dr Sobolevsky treated my varicose veins. I really liked that he did not push any procedures on me. He explained everything and said that a minimalistic approach is best. This was very different from my previous experience when doctors wanted to do as much as possible. Dr Sobolevsky made me very comfortable with the way he approached my problems. I was very satisfied with the treatments. Irina helped me with all questions. I highly recommend this center.

I had pain in legs and could not walk more than a block, had to stop and rest all the time. Dr Sobolevsky found that I had narrow veins in my legs and made them wider. I can walk now far. Its just amazing.. He was very sensitive to my personal needs. Irina, his assistant was very helpful.

Dr. Sobolevsky did embolization of my prostate because i could not get rid of a cathter. After 3 weeks I was able to get rid of the catheter. The hole experience was very smooth. I am very thankful. Very good doctor. Thank you

I was very impressed with this practice. Dr Sobolevsky was very attentive, answered all my questions, was really personable. His staff was very polite and accommodating. He opened up some arteries in my leg. Now I can walk without pain. Now I am sending all my friends and relatives to him

Dr Sobolevsky treated me and my family with kindness and respect. He was very knowledgeable and explained the procedure very well and in words we could understand. The procedure went very good and we had no complication. After the procedure he spoke to me and my family and let us know how the procedure went. I really liked Dr Sobolevsky and his staff they treat you like family. I would recommend him for any vascular work that needs to be done. He is an excellent IR doctor and a wonderful person.
