Sepia was founded by Dr. Lewis, who earned her Doctor of Medicine from Georgetown University and completed her Family Medicine residency at Meritus Medical Center. She started Sepia after recognizing that patients were craving a better experience with their primary care provider.
Patients were tired of waiting weeks to see their doctor and then spending less than 15 minutes with them. They were frustrated by feeling like each issue required a separate office visit, even when it could have been handled by phone or text. They were shocked that no one could tell them how much labs or imaging would cost until after the services were done. They were disappointed at how quickly doctors jumped to medication as the only solution for their ailments. They felt unheard when doctors seemed to brush off their concerns without truly listening. They were unnerved by navigating a broken system of low-value, high-cost care.

As a first time patient, I as was asked did I have any issues that needed any attention. Once I said no and I was here for a yearly physical. I was told that my first appointment will be a get to know you appointment which I like because Dr. Lewis is wanted to know about me and my medical history also my family medical history. Which I appreciate and was not ready to jump in and do a physical exam. Dr. Lewis is a great listener, and was very warm. I feel like I pick the right doctor, being new to the state.

I saw Dr. Lewis for something that she wasn’t able to provide because it was very first appointment with her however she asked questions and asked what other things could she assist with. I very grateful for that. Dr. Lewis’s first impression was a lasting one. I am happy to say she will be my new primary care physician.
