Getting to know Dr. Sevil Gamer

IMPORTANT: Dr. Gamer does not accept any insurance plans. She offers in-office and online evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment. Online sessions are always conducted via a HIPAA-compliant video service. "If you have worries about your mental health, difficulty relating to others, problems with social skills, changes in level of functioning, sexual disorders, or gender identity, I would like us to work together to find a solution." Dr. Gamer's private practice goal is to strengthen patients' mental health through individualized treatment, including intensive psychotherapy and, if needed, medications. She specializes in adult psychiatry, with an emphasis on depression, anxiety, mood disorders, pregnancy-related women's health, bipolar disorder, psychosis, ADHD, and eating disorders. Dr. Gamer is trained and certified in medication-assisted treatment of opioid use disorder (Suboxone and Subutex only). She earned her medical degree from Azerbaijan Medical University and completed training at Richmond University Medical Center in Behavioral Health. Dr. Gamer served as director of the adult inpatient Women's Reproductive Mental Health Program at King's County Hospital Center, one of the HHC hospitals in NYC. Her special interest lies in the mental health of pregnant women and their partners. Later, she continued her career as Medical Director of the Personalized Recovery Oriented Service (PROS) Outpatient Program at the Bridge NGO in NYC. She currently works in an acute inpatient psychiatry facility at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Gamer is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist with more than 30 years of medical experience. She is also certified as an adult psychoanalytic psychotherapist from the Institute of Psychoanalytic Education affiliated with NYU School of Medicine. Today, she runs a "boutique" private practice she has built over the years, where each client receives unique care and support.

    I was at my wit's end before I saw Dr Gamer, trying to find the right meds for me without the side effects that made them unbearable.
