Shaneika Lindsay is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner at Talkiatry, dedicated to providing personalized and empathetic mental healthcare. She joined Talkiatry as a Staff Nurse Practitioner in 2019.
Shaneika focuses on medication management, typically combined with supportive or emotionally focused therapy in 30-minute follow-up visits. Occasionally, she may recommend adding a therapist to your care team for the best outcome.
For seven years, Shaneika has provided care to veterans on a dual diagnosis inpatient psychiatric unit at the VA NY Harbor Healthcare System, gaining extensive experience in managing substance abuse and co-morbid psychiatric disorders. While attending Hunter College, she completed a yearlong clinical rotation at Casa Promesa, serving underserved populations in the South Bronx.
As a Nurse Practitioner, she emphasizes holistic care, considering physical, psychological, interpersonal, and environmental factors when creating treatment plans. She believes these areas are interconnected and vital to mental health and vitality.

Because we accept insurance, we can reduce out-of-pocket expenses and still offer high-quality care. You may not have any cost related to your visit with us, depending upon your insurance plan. Most patients pay a small copay per visit, subject to any deductible or coinsurance that your health plan has. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services determines appropriate billing guidelines. These guidelines depend on the length of the visit and the complexity and severity of your diagnosis. For this reason, we need to wait until after the visit for the final determination. We then submit the claim to your insurance company. The charges are calculated based upon pre-negotiated prices with your insurance company. Your insurance company will then determine what amount, if any, is your responsibility per your insurance plan.

I just realized I hadn't written a review for Dr. Lindsay and had to correct that mistake immediately! She is a wonderful listener, great communicator, makes you feel very comfortable, asks the right questions, is obviously very well-organized, and is incredibly easy-going. My time with her is a lot of fun and I would recommend her to anyone.
Setting up using her remote healthcare app was incredibly easy and the gentleman who called me to confirm my details, ask some assessment questions, and explain the system and billing was also great to speak with.

Video appointment. I was immediately put at ease by Dr. Lindsay's manner and her welcoming statements. I have never engaged in any sort of therapy and had my own trepidation. Though it was determined that a different provider in a more targeted area would better suit my particular needs, Dr. Lindsay was patient and thorough in her assessment and provided me with guidance as to where I can locate the best services for me. I cannot speak to substantive results, but from what I experienced, one would be in extremely professional, thoughtful and careful hands.
